To be honest, Halesowen got to the final third via the wings but after that we looked predictable. Telford closed down quickly and snuffed out any threat with ease. Manning tried a couple of shots from outside the box going close a couple of times testing their keeper but no cigar. Donnelly, again, ran himself into the ground and never gave up on any potential opportunity! On to New Years day........🤞🏼
Dont we have Bedford first??

Fair bit of grumbling from the away fans today, which I thought was unfair.

We fielded our strongest (available) XI, players all played well individually, we moved the ball about well, and looked the better footballing team. Substitutions were the right ones and the right moment in the game, but nothing really seemed to help us unlock the Telford defence.

Goals both came off set pieces (as well as one disallowed for a mystery offence) and that was the difference.

So think you just have to say it’s one of those days? Easiest defeat to swallow so far this season.

TBH it was probably the hardest defeat to take for me. As you say we tried hard but we're clearly a level below Telford and that concerns me a little. They dealt with all we had to throw at them with ease and had we not thrown a few really good last ditch challenges in when they broke it would have been more. Platt pulled off a couple of good saves when they should have scored and I'm baffled as to why they had one disallowed. Despite our best efforts they beat us with plenty to spare. I've no doubt we will get back to winning ways, I was just a little disappointed how much better they looked than us today.

Small things influence big games.

Not making excuses at all BUT worth discussion
Why wasn’t their keeper sent off for a clear hand ball outside the area ?
What on earth was the free kick for that led to their first goal?

Yesterday reminded me of the the game we were away at macclesfield last season in the cup out of our depth they looked a class above sharper, stronger and quicker in all departments.
Too much sideways backwards for me,donnely isolated up top on his own
Wer really missing ponticelli alongside him, cassidy has to start over hickman and somethings not right in midfield not really sure what ceesay offers ?he never seems to keep up with play or be in the right place
Tee and manning good footballers but get brushed off too easy, tee for me allways comes backwards instead of just running on getting a shot away or delivering a cross.
One of those days ,no need to panic i think wel make the play offs

We said exactly this as we left yesterday. We are definitely good enough for play offs but I think are short at the moment for winning the title.

I think we're not near National league level at present and the championship will be just beyond us. No shame in that at all. Given its only our 2nd season in the division, we've done very well.
