Can't remember songs but didn't he used to shout 'We can beat these people Halesowen'. Assuming a bloke called Martin was the ginger wheelie bin. Henry was the other of that crew who may also have shouted that.

Whatever happened to all those characters from the 90s?

I know we all grow up / get chained to a womans say so, but i haven't seen most of those since pre 2000, and they used to go just about everywhere to watch us. Kids these days will never know what they missed

The finest ever (almost) was adapted by Brother Scouse from a musical - 'The Halesowen Stage', a version of 'The Deadwood Stage' from a Doris Day (not the Gater) film. Circa 1995.

The produce of a Friday afternoon at work after 'several' pints in the Ivy Bush on the Hagley Road at lunch time. Unveiled in the Newt & Cucumber prior to a train journey to Tawmworth (???). Think we sang it once in full, and half way through the second rendition we scored, and went on to win the game !!!

This is turning into the best thread ever.
Remember one of the fancy dress days at Dorchester, we spent the entire second half from first whistle to last chanting "Stuart Halls Barmy Army" in 2 seperate groups without a single break. Beer was much needed at the end!

I'm sure we had a song in the 80's or 90's about our good friends from Tamworth. It was something about what a wonderful, welcoming, hospitable place it was. How they were articulate, and full of joyful banter, how they were born of good looks and with opposing thumbs, how we relished our every opportunity to visit.....

The original was by Freddie and The Dreamers from (I believe) the '60's.

The lead singer, Freddie Garretty, played a few games for Bedworth reserves and later went on to work on the bins in Coventry. Though he's probably retired now.
