Re: Season predictions 2025/26
I think we should be aiming to get out of the league (in an upwards direction of course).
I acknowledge some clubs have benefactors, but we should have the biggest match day income, typically double or more than most clubs, so that should be in our favour.
I wouldn't have highlighted Bury as a favourite, although promoted teams often do quite well. Remember, it's Bury St Edmunds, not Bury near Manchester.

If spalding and Harborough are not in the top 2 I would be very surprised both have kept key players and added quality to their ranks. Still time to add players but at present we look very light upfront again in numbers and height. I think we will need at least 3 quality additions to push for a play off place. Some teams have made some useful additions and are going to be stronger than last year.

We've lost three key players in Wynter, Tee and KD, plus two squad members in Flanagan and Cameron.
There's an argument the key players have already been replaced and that Finn is actually an upgrade on Tee. I think Gudger is only a year older than Wynter and has consistently played at a higher level. KD is a tough one but Cowley is capable of replacing his goals.
Yes, we need numbers to improve the depth but there's no reason to think that won't happen. I'm confident we'll be there or thereabouts again regardless of what other teams have done.

Don't worry. I think you'll find on Saturday that we will be fielding Trialist A (AKA Ryan Booth); Trialist B (AKA Nat Kelly) and Trialist C (AKA Musa Ceesay)

Re: Season predictions 2025/26
I'm always amazed at how much people know about the budgets of our rivals. We don't even know the budget of the team we all support, let alone our competitors! That being said, I'd be surprised if we didn't have one of the better budgets in the league - based purely on attendances, being one of the more expensive teams to watch (not a criticism, it's good value in my mind), the great business acumen we have behind the scenes attracting sponsors and related income, and then a potential transfer fee for KD, perhaps? But all that's just an educated guess. I could be wrong, because no one truly knows the budgets of any team, do they?
I feel anything other than a play-off position would be a disappointment, and a failure. I agree with the posts above that we missed a huge chance last season. It really was a golden opportunity. Just converting 2 or 3 of the draws against opposition we were more than capable of beating, in the run in, would have seen us up. Oh well, if my nan had balls, and all that. But we'll do well to get such a good opportunity this year.
