Not a bad first half. I thought it was a matter of time before we equalised and I think once we did, we realised we can play without KD. Cameron has held the front line well and pleased he scored.

Comfortable. After looking like we were going to make it hard for ourselves again we regained our composure and won it with gears to spare. Cameron led the line well for us in the absence of Donnelly and I thought Milan had a good game also. Amidst the, I suspect, many twists and turns to come we will need a full squad to pick from now, so hopefully all the illnesses are quickly overcome. For me the title itself is down to 4 now and 5 if Harborough win Tuesday. We will have to be at our best when we go there next week, I fear it. Well done lads today!

Halesowen Town 3 Lowestoft Town 1

Three goals in a thirteen minute spell overcame lowly Lowestoft’s early goal and put Halesowen on top of the table, writes DJ.

Yeltz manager Russ Penn firstly commented on coping with the illness problem that has swept through the squad. “It’s major. All contributed massively, it’s a testament to the group today.” As for the game itself, Penn noted, “we don’t make it easy for ourselves. But we found a vulnerability on set pieces and that won us the game. I know we can be better, but we keep grinding out results, we know how to win games. We made the second half look very comfortable.”

The Trawler Boys shocked promotion-chasing Halesowen by taking an early 3rd minute lead when Harvey Sayer’s right wing cross was headed against the post by Samuel Johnson in space and Kyle HAYLOCK was first to react to turn home the rebound. Another Sayer free-kick then just evaded Johnson again at the far post in the 16th minute.

The Yeltz made a great response and Milan Butterfield’s 20 yard shot was just fingered onto the top of the net by goalkeeper Ronnie Yeo. Halesowen then drew level in the 32nd minute when the visitors failed to clear Conor Tee’s cross, allowing captain Ryan WYNTER stab home. Just four minutes later the Yeltz took the lead when Wynter headed on Tee’s free-kick for Alex CAMERON to convert in front of goal against the leakiest defence in the league. Ryan Wollacott headed just over the bar after 39 minutes in continued home pressure.

Halesowen made it 3-1 in the 45th minute when Tee’s corner was headed back at the far post by Wollacott and the ball fell for McKauley MANNING to smash a low 15 yard drive home.

After the break, Cameron’s 50th minute volley from Tee’s cross was blocked and Manning’s 61st minute shot was saved. A low cross from Lowestoft’s best player Sayer was then cut out by home goalkeeper Dan Platt and there were plenty of further home chances for Cameron, Tee and Manning in the second period but no further goals.

Butterfield almost added a fourth home goal but put a flying volley wide from Jak Hickman’s 83rd minute cross.

I love watching Milan play. He never looks like hes playing at 100mph, but he's in the mix all the time and holds and passes the ball well. I still think Telford or Kettering for the title( I daren't dream!!!), but its nice we've found our rhythm a bit at the arse end of the season and we can give it a go.

Another 3 points on the board which is all that really matters at this stage in the season.
Apart from first 5 mins we were totally dominant and only concern is we were unable to really test what looked like a very rookie keeper.
As it seems illness was in the camp this week guess we dont know what other players were feeling below par today.
would have liked to have seen the 2 new guys get some game time today.
On now to a very big game next week so lets hope all fit by then
