Re: Bromsgrove updates
For all our neat and tidy passing in our build up play we wern't able to get in behind them to hurt them.
Tee fired in a cross first half from near bye line which KD was unable to flick in first half and Smile played an excellent pass through second half but keeper saved from a chance not sure who looked like should have been smashed in.
Apart from those cant think of keeper doing anything.
They were happy to let us play in front of them.
Not too impressed with new guy who started, would like to have seen Wragg get more time, he seemed more likely to get behind them with his runs.
On a current theme, another stupid card for KD
Big test coming up Saturday, Lets hope Russ can get them really up for it

Cheers Darren. On the subject of 'faith', it gets truly tested with our lot doesn't itHalesowenHarry wrote: ↑01 Jan 2025, 17:58Bravo Andy, summed up perfectly. Keep the faith!andy wrote: ↑01 Jan 2025, 17:37TBH I've been thinking for a while now there isn't much difference between most of the sides in this division. Today summed it up. Bromsgrove were no better than us and once again we looked bang average. If there was a class act in this league they would be 15 points clear by now. Really not sure how we can gain any consistency because we do not know what sort of performance we will get from one week to the next. Thankfully all the other teams seem to be in the same boat, so let's hope we can regain a bit of form and go again. It really is there for the taking but not on todays showing.

Re: Bromsgrove updates
Flat performance on and off the pitch
Is it the football style the reason our fans are so quiet?
Smile playing like a 3rd centre back sideways backwards passing till a lumped up ball is cleared easily by another giant centre half then won by their midfield outnumbering ours and setting up quick attacks looking dangerous
Our play is constantly in front of an organised, strong, tall, quick opposition which is so easy to defend we never get behind teams quickly
Our free kicks and corners never create nothing
Too many small lightweight players hickman, tee, parker, smile, manning,kd easily bullied and brushed off the ball
Really missing ponticelli,very frustrating

Re: Bromsgrove updates
Was saying to my mate on the way to the game that this could be a banana skin of a game, as their form was good and ours was dire… they were awful first half and we should have gone in 3-0 up … but we didn’t…. Second half they were the better team and put away the two chances they made, simple as that …. We need a freshen up in the squad and bring in a bit of meat and size to the midfield and more importantly up front… when things aren’t going to plan and you need a plan b … we just don’t have one … agree with previous posts Ponticeli was a big loss and everything has fallen apart since his departure, and his class is the type of players we need to bring in…. Not just shirt fillers, or we’re only going to head in one direction…. And it’s not upwards…. Need a couple of good quality players ASAP., or before we know it we will be out of the playoff places and season will be done….In my opinion…

Beaten by the better side today and outsung and the shed was taken over by bromsgrove noisier fans. Embarrassing. Can still make play offs which would be a great achievement

Re: Bromsgrove updates
After the Telford game it was clear as night and day that Halesowen were at best playoff candidates! After today I'd struggle to say we'll make the playoffs. Plenty of endeavour upto the final third but after that, I don't know why, nothing, absolutely nothing. Ponticelli IS a BIG miss. There's only so much running Donnelly can do but without a partner it's just a thankless task. Hopefully a result on Saturday

January 1st: Sitting 4th. 5 points off the top. Would we have taken that at the start of the season? Definitely! All to play for but we have got to improve on today! Ponticelli is a huge miss and someone needs to step up and fill the role he played.

Re: Bromsgrove updates
Good point to put this all in perspective by the last poster - of course we'd have taken it. It just hurts a little that we had Kettering in our sights and are now looking like playoff hopefuls at best. I feel that over the festive period we've looked sluggish. Ponticelli is a massive miss but that's the nature of non league football. It's a gap we need to fill as soon as...
A huge mention also to the attendance- 1503. That's fantastic at this level.
Happy New Year to you all and let's all enjoy our 2025 of football. Cheeky prediction - Boxing Day match 2025 - Kidderminster at home in the National League North. Keep The Faith!

Re: Bromsgrove updates
Agree with the sage Johnny Bud on this one.
To add further grounds for optimism, our fixtures do ease up a bit (after Kettering obvs) - in terms of difficulty and frequency - and judging by the comments on the Kettering and Telford results, their fans seem to think they're throwing it away as well. If we can find our feet again, then who knows where we could end up.
I think everyone can see the difference a Ponticelli makes - I do wonder if we've got half a chance of him coming back after the Spurs game as he'd definitely not getting the game time he'd have hoped for.

I think Ponticelli coming back is just hope. We really need to build rather than hope. Not saying it cant happen, but how many players have we wished for to come back? Its a big loss that has coincided with three defeats, although two wins before didnt hint at it. Donnelly desperately needs help and that was obvious 5 games ago. We gotta give the new guys time to find their feet.
