8 games as a player/assistant manager under Martin o'Connor at the start of the 2007-8 season I believe.JohnC wrote:Here was there a couple of seasons back as an assistant and still playing if memory serves me well?
Probably left at the commencement of him whose name cannot be mentioned but at that point Duane was already injured as he had suffered a dramatic calf pull at the Stourbr*dge Road end early in a previous match

I also believe the goalkeeping coach mentioned there Matt Lowe used to play for us although mainly as backup to Danny McDonnell. I think although it may be slightly later than that.

Re: Duane Darby
Matt Lowe's 18 appearances for us were in 2003/04 , Danny McDonnell had left at the end of the 1999/2000 season, and Matt was one of five goalies used in that season.
Mark Gayle started but was replaced by Matt after our FA Cup defeat at Blyth Sparatans in October and he played the majority of matches until the middle of January, Mark Sheils also appearing 4 times. Then, after Matt left, Sheils kept the goalie's shirt for the remainder of the season apart from the infamous night when Walsall came and thrashed us 7-0 at The Grove in the Birmingham Senior Cup, Nathan Vaughan having a very unfortunate time in his sole Yeltz match.
When Brendan Phillips left and Paul Holleran took over, Sheils made the spot is own after an inspired display at Cinderford in Paul Holleran's first match.
