That was an entertaining game, although I think they played better than us and could easily have got a draw or maybe even better out of the game in the 2nd half. There was a good save, some good blocks and some poor finishing from them.

We lost some control in midfield and nothing was really sticking up front in the 2nd half.

Anyway it was a win and it's difficult to work out form just yet, and it was a sunny afternoon.

Perfect summing up! Have to say Mannings goal was worthy of winning any game though.

A win to start the season, I suppose that's exactly what we want as fans. Mini's strike was brilliant and he did really well to make room for the shot with great footwork. Connor Tee I thought did well in the build up as he did in winning the penalty. Despite the concerns about our lack of depth up top I thought Adi did well and although he didn't score he did play a part in the build up of both goals. I think we'll see him probably contribute as many assists to midfield players who get around him as we will goals. Redditch on Monday - fingers crossed we can make it 6 points from two games it was a good start for them going all that way to Lowestoft and winning.

We still need a couple of signings really especially as this season you can use all 5 subs. Yesterday we had a not fully fit Donnelly, 40 year old goalkeeping coach and young Postle. Any injuries and we will be struggling

Lacking 3 good signings, 2 of which would go straight in, a midfielder who can do the dirty work which is possibly why we went missing a bit second half yesterday and a forward. Everyone but everyone can see that. The third would be a ball playing midfielder or another forward. I know money doesn't grow on trees though so in Penn we trust

So Hayward and Holmes (if we’d not let him go)

The missing piece is clearly a big centre forward type. You have to wonder if we missed out on our main targets for the summer.

I think at this point we are consigned to the loan market - but think of some of the players we’ve borrowed in the past (Udoh, Kaiman, Reffell) and that could make the difference.

An entertaining game and both teams going 'at it' in the heat should be applauded! I wouldn't have argued if Kettering had grabbed a draw as I felt that they could have done towards the end. We'll take the three points and run and hopefully win tonight? Onwards.......
