Pre-Season Friendly – Tuesday, 23rd July 2024
Halesowen Town 0 Solihull Moors 3
Halesowen’s preparations continued with a first pre-season defeat as National League Solihull hit three goals in an eight minute spell deep into the second half, writes DJ.
In an even opening period, home goalkeeper Dan Platt made a good save from Kian Ryley after seven minutes and Jon Benton planted a 10th minute effort wide of Halesowen’s post.
A 15th minute Yeltz corner was then cleared and McKauley Manning struck into the arms of Moors’ goalkeeper Aaron Flahavan four minutes later. Adi Yussuf was blocked in front of the Solihull goal in the 25th minute and Reece Mitchell fired over the visiting crossbar in the final minute of the first period.
Halesowen threaded the ball through to Todd Parker at the start of the second half, only for him to be dispossessed in front of goal and Manning was then blocked by the visiting goalkeeper after 65 minutes.
But higher league Solihull ran out comfortable winners with three late goals. Jack Stevens fired the Moors ahead from the penalty spot in the 76th minute after Fin Holmes was fouled. Just two minutes later Stevens was put through to tuck home past Platt to double the lead before young prospect Holmes fired his first Solihull goal into the roof of Halesowen’s net to make it 3-0 in the 83rd minute.

Re: Solihull Updates
Definitely need, another striker. One up top isn't going to cut it I'm afraid. Saturday will be a better test to see what's what, in my opinion.

Re: Solihull Updates
Early days but he looks absolutely miles off it. Can’t see what he really offers, hopefully he’ll come good. Think we were spoilt really with Miracle.
