Very scrappy and not helped by the ref who seemed intent on constantly stopping the game. I cant think of anytime they really threatened to score tbh. Gregs was very intelligent with his distribution, but I thought both Sim and Insall didnt seem quite with it. Its fair to say we had to work for the win today, but Id say overall we were the better teamandy wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 16:19Ditto from last week really. Very happy with the 3points to keep us in the hunt but need to improve performancewise still. We will play much tougher teams than this, but at least we saw it over the line against them. We had the chances to kill it but seemed like rabbits caught in the headlights at the end! Thought Birch was very good today and the loanee Tonge was once again impressive. Well done lads anyway, let's now get a confidence boosting cricket score next week!

The short chap for them was trying to get a few cards our way! In the end, scrappy game that could of gone either way, glad to get the 3 points on a cold early fixture!

A game that won't live long in the memory. A result, tho', that come the end of the season will have a W by the side of the fixture which is all that matters.
Man of the match, for me, by a country mile was Bradley Birch. Come to think of it if Bradley Birch had of played at Stamford I strongly believe we'd have at least drawn that game.

Have to say, I wasn't convinced about Brad Birch, but he's been a revelation recently. Ran the show today.410viawednesbury wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 18:32A game that won't live long in the memory. Yes, I agree with all of this.Brightgoldenhaze wrote: ↑03 Dec 2022, 19:45Have to say, I wasn't convinced about Brad Birch, but he's been a revelation recently. There were certainly a few warranted yellow cards today, but not that many. Nevertheless I couldn't call out very many fouls given that weren't fouls, and both sides were culpable in doing that.

Re: Cambridge City Updates
I was happy with that today. Another team we had to battle away with and another team we “outsmarted”, if that’s the right term.
It’s hard to replace a player in the mould of Danny Bragoli but I think we are close with Brad Birch. You have to watch him through your hands at times but today I thought he turned the game in our favour.
The surprise for me today was the attendance. Where was everyone?
Definitely a big dropoff with the kickoff time.
Still 100% at home this season but next one will be very tricky - Harborough who won 4-0 at Corby today.

Danny Bragoli couldn't hold a candle to Brad Birch!
Bragoli's finest talent was a hoof out of the ground.

The rest of the top six have still got to come us. Spalding and Stamford haven't played each other yet. It's in our hands.
