If I remember correctly - which is unlikely - we were on the coach back from somewhere. Grant (who I have no idea about now) started a "shaggy dog" story that was something like
"Mario Lanza was at a fire at a sky scraper, starting singing endlessly 'and beneath that window, there's another window' and after about 2 mins it ended 'there's a door'"
Terrible joke, but from then on we started singing it and the rest is history.
I am old and we were drunk so the details will be wrong, but that's what I remember.
May or may not be related to the dressing up as a window of course.
That's pretty much it Poll, although I believe Mario had jumped from the flaming tower block to escape.
It was indeed Grant who started it but like yourself, i don't know where or when.
Grant also came up with the one about his sister urinating out of the window onto his new head wear - another Jolly Boys classic
Precious times!

For anyone not around then you can tell it was very classy.

Yes, that definitely sounds much better than my version

For those who want to know how the story of dramatic escape from near-certain death ended, I can confirm it was a joyful one.
Mario spent his later years in self-induced obscurity, drawing self portraits on peeled-off beer mats in the Black Country's finest hostelries. It was reported recently that he was currently residing in a care home in Kingswinford. Or is he?

Many the pub bejewelled with the line drawings and a random quote or interesting fact. He worked with Phil apparently.
Although I don't remember "Our Brother" clocking on at the Royal Opera House.
A quick Google actually leads one down a quite unsavoury path. Suffice it to say he's on a list, and it's not the shortlist for the Turner Prize...
