Correct HH. It was just after Christmas 1991. Vicarage Road with 600 in was quite eerie.

The Jolly Boys played the Wealdstone supporters on the morning - we lost 4 -1.
Oh, and I got it wrong - it was Herbie Heath, not Herbie Hide. He was a pretty useful heavyweight boxer from the '90's. I don't think he ever played for us but who knows under later regimes at The Grove.

Re: FA Trophy resumption?
According to the report in Follow Your Instinct (towards the end of https://yeltzland.net/followyourinstinct/IssueSix.pdf) the Jolly Boys lost 4-1 in each half! If I remember right they had a couple of blokes who used to play for them in the Conference. That's the only way we would have lost by that much

There's also a short report of the real game at Vicarage Road in there too.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/brig ... 27d0373750Wembley Stadium has been proposed as a test venue for fans for the FA Trophy and FA Vase finals, on September 20 or 27, with up to a maximum 10,000 supporters in the stadium. This is also likely to be the first test event of supporters attending from more than one club.

Re: FA Trophy resumption?
Surely the FA will have to get their respective fingers out to get the semis sorted now.
Single leg, behind closed doors?
Two legs with crowds?
Rock, paper, scissors?
Game of cribbage down the Legion (and one for his knob)?

One off game - with spectators? I have this recurring vision of Milton Keynes on a Sunday afternoon?

And the latest for the semis is, one leg, a draw to see who's at home.
No news on whether there can be fans or not.
Under the current rules, there could be at our place (a fantastic bunfight for 400 tickets) but not at theirs (no fans allowed at Level 1 & 2 currently).
Undoubtedly more to come.

We should find out where, if not when and how, either later this week - https://twitter.com/halesowentownfc/sta ... 34530?s=20 - or tomorrow - https://twitter.com/BittonAFC/status/12 ... 50752?s=20 - if it's the same as the Vase.
And, I admit that tomorrow is, in fact, later this week.
Wot larks.
