Massive result, that. Showed some character to find an equaliser in the first tie and then to go and win 3-0 away is phenomenal. Stamford are a good side and it’s a long journey for a Tuesday night. Well played boys!

Well worth the challenges of the M6 to get there last night. A polished professional performance against a good side. Their 7 and 11 were again a thorn in the side, but a great defensive performance kept them largely at bay. Again we could have been a few up very quickly, and one particular inch perfect cross to Montel with a certain goal was only thwarted by a defenders desperate outstretched toe. We gradually took control and once the first went in you felt it was game over. A masterstoke sub bringing on Moly and dropping Luke back enabled him to cause even more chaos than he had already, and at the end 3 0 flattered Stamford.
To complete a great night the wheels never stopped turning on the journey home and we were back in God's own country by 11.30
