Re: Beduth.
That's a big win. Keeps us in touching distance with another 2 weekends off from the league.

It potentially could be 22nd October when we play in the league next. Daventry Town game reaaranged for then. Here's hoping as Alty at home gives us an outside chance in the cup

Re: Beduth.
Does anyone know why Bunn isnt in the sticks?? Gotta agree on Catlow. He gave a really soft corner away second half and Im not convinced with his kicking.dalevillain wrote: ↑24 Sep 2019, 19:17No Paul McCone tonight? Can only assume injured or not travelled due to other commitments maybe?
Also Catlow in goal, he didn’t fill me with confidence on Saturday.
Although in Paul Smith I trust. As mentioned we need to win!

Re: Beduth.
well we got the points so this won't sound like sour grapes..... but I just hate football on Bedworth and Sutton's 3g's. Even in previous encounters when we had 'kick and run' players it didn't seem right on the plastic, but last night this was magnified a thousand times now that we have proper ball playing players. In the first 5 minutes two passes in particular would have been defence splitting on grass, and first Luke Yates and then Montel Gibson would have been clear in on goal.....but the ball on both occasions went for goal kicks at the speed of Exocet missiles !!!
Luke Yates in particular was disadvantaged by the exaggerated bounce that these pitches produce. If you watch him closely on a proper pitch, as the ball comes towards him,in that split second, he has already decided what he is going to do with it....but not last night as he spent all night having to guess how high the bounce would be.
Hope there aren't many more of these pitches left this season.
But a question for the knowledgeable folk on here. How come at Tamworth you hardly notice at all that it isn't a grass pitch ? are there different grades of this dreaded plastic ?

Very definitely there are. And it goes all the way up to every premier League club. They all have artificial fibres which are oversown with grass seed to create that perfect stable sward. Unfortunately the plastic rubbish with rubber pellets it's a far, far cry from that!

You're absolutely right about the quality of football played on them as well, I don't recall ever seeing a decent game on one. They are great for all weather training and as community pitches for use every day, but at a good standard of football they should be banned.
