Again, apologies for the lack of the usual high-class service from yours truly. My GuyPhone has gone on the blink and I can't get it sorted until I let the IT Crowd at it tomorrow morning.Capinjazz wrote:Just wondering if there be any updates! Some of us have to work??
Once more, Brother Pollard has stepped into the breach it seems, so cheers Poll.

I don't understand why August Bank Holiday fixtures are 3pm, they're all local derbies. Of course if it was on at 7.45pm others would complain, but HTFC just lost £8 income from me at least because of kick-off time.

Re: Sutton Cold(for August)field updates
After a couple of days to think things over, and with a veiled threat of visiting relatives if I didn't go to the game I joined the faithful (?) for today's match.
Jean Michel Gueyes and Warren Brooks were given a start - about time too! The manager must have actually listened to the fans.
Both of them showed enthusiasm with no lack of skill and inventive play, but our superiority was not taken advantage of in the first half. Their 'keeper also made a couple of excellent saves to deny us a goal.
In the second half we seemed to lose our momentum and the game became scrappy but, along came Ben to give us the lead - which we squandered about 15 minutes later due to the usual defensive frailties. We put a lot of pressure on Sutton in the last 10 minutes and, true to form, Haseley saved the day with an 87th minute winner.
Not a good second half performance - except for the goals - which begs the question: "where are the goals coming from if Ben Haseley is injured or has an off day?"
The stat's show two wins and one defeat and, on the face of it, we should have no complaints but I still think that we are going to have to string together a lot of wins to convince those that kept their vow not to come again to change their minds.
