Think that was the Senior Cup. Sure one of the older anoraks on here would be able to confirm
Andy? Welshy?
Birmingham Senior Cup. When we used to enter the Staffs Cup I think that used to have finals on league grounds on occasions.
Isn't the League Cup final over 2 legs? It used to be. I'm sure I remember going to Crawley many moons ago for a final second leg.
was it Crawley or deepest Dover ? The only thing I clearly remember as I was Finance director at the time was that the whole run to the final cost us £2,400 ... which is a lot to lose now... but it was a hell of a lot back then, especially when you consider everybody used to have much bigger crowds for those games back then.
Hence why I have never been much in love with the competition ... it must be the only competition in football where winning a cup can actually cost a club money !!!!

That's a most interesting insight, John. Makes you wonder why we bother?

Is that a relation of Henry Eze on their bench?

We played Crawley in 2003 - I remember skiving off an afternoon of school to get the coach down there on a Tuesday night. We won at our place 2-1 in the first leg and then lost 2-0 in the second leg.

Bunking off school would explain a lot...

Indeed it was. I couldn't go due to exams at Trent Polytechnic. Bloody hell, that makes me feel old
Passed the exams though - at least I think I did
