A week's a long time in politics - and so it seems in football.

Seven days ago we made Sh**bridge look fairly ordinary for an hour and went 3 goals up. We played good football with the ball on the floor for the vast majority of the game, then the leagure programme begins and we revert to the aimless ball over the top to our two huge(?) strikers.
Our passing was awful and as for the "man of the match" I think the sponsors had been on the juice themselves! The comments from behind the dugout when our No 4 was announced were derisory - and that's being diplomatic.
On this showing we're in for a tough old season. :-[

New season, clean slate and all that so I'll give it a while before passing judgement on the team but one thing I am confident to say even on the first day of the season is this: Brendan Kelly is a liability. He was last season and he's started this one in the same way. If he's not making schoolboy errors and giving away goals he's diving in and getting himself booked or sent off. His tackle today was ridiculous and their bloke is lucky not to have a broken leg. He makes Peter Folkes look like Socrates.

I was going to hold back until i'd seen a game where we played the whole 90 minutes 11 v 11, but on recent history that may be some time. That said, even before the sending off we were second best in every area, after the sending off, a total shambles. 1st game though, and hopefully may prove to be a one off. Like Lutley though i too suspect it may be a long season.

Kelly a fool no need to take out a player on the wing half way up the pitch.
However, how can a manager have a go who was serving a suspension for being sent off last season!

Sean Cunnington's only record will be for the most red cards per games manager.

Jones rubbish seems to have taken over from Curtis as managers favorite.

Guyers and Warren Brookes who came on looked better than what went off.

Jury out on Griffin showed none of the form at Stourport two seasons ago.

As previously said the match sponsers must have had too much free booze before the match and during half time.
Sam Brooks was woeful.

If Mickleover had put on their shooting boots they should have had 8 at least.

Cue excuses from the manager.

PATHETIC.

johnc, i cant take it any more, youve said some controversial things in the past but youve gone too far this
time..FREE BOOZE for the sponsors...how dare you suggest such a thing! (apart from wine with the meals, its a `paid bar`) what with entry to match, posh seats , 2 course meal with wine, programme, hot drinks at half time and all for only £20 per person its a bargain as it is! (the one draw back is youre expected to watch the match)

I can't comment on the match as I wasn't there but it seems to me the same players for our faults last season are guilty again.

I've vowed to be diplomatic and nice on this website but I'm pretty p*ssed off with Shaun at the moment after what we discussed in the open forum last week in the Yeltzbar - although benefit of the doubt given being as it's the first match of the season ::)
