Re: Redditch Updates
Halesowen Town 1 Redditch United 0
Already-relegated Halesowen ended their season’s home games as they started - with a narrow 1-0 victory.
Aaron Birch fired over the Redditch bar after just 39 seconds but the final Premier Division Central game of the season at the Grove proved to be a typical end-of-season affair during first period with little action until the Yeltz were gifted their match winner. Richard Batchelor was guilty of making a terrible slip to allow both Samir Nabi and Isai Marselia a free run on goal and it was Nabi who squared the ball for MARSELIA to tap into an empty net after 18 minutes.
After their lack-lustre start to the game, the Reds improved somewhat towards the interval as Robbie Bunn wasted a 39th minute corner and home goalkeeper Dan Platt saved at the feet of Shaquile Leachman-Whitttingham two minutes later. Bunn then took advantage of Kieran Morris’s 43rd minute mistake but Platt beat the ball away and Luke Yates could only put the rebound wide. Josh Hawker curled a free-kick just wide of the Yeltz post at the start of the second half and Reds’ substitute Rob Evans burst forward in the 69th minute but his low shot was turned away for a corner by Platt.
Redditch goalkeeper Reece Francis made a good blocking save to prevent player-manager substitute Lee Hughes doubling the home lead in the 75th minute from Aaron Gilpin’s fine cross. Visiting substitute Jack Downing’s 84th minute low shot was then saved by Platt but the Yeltz held out with reasonable ease to claim all three points against their disappointing visitors, although other results still confirmed a 21st place finish in the league table.
Halesowen Town: Dan Platt; Enock Ekongo, Sam Griffiths (Asa Charlton 52), Ivor Lawton, Kieran Morris (c), Callam Mendez-Jones, Aaron Gilpin, Aaron Birch (Lee Hughes 62), Isai Marselia (Sam Dallow 89), Kartel O’Neill-Martin, Samir Nabi. Subs Not Used: Akara Glass, Joab Wheatley.
Redditch United: Reece Francis; Jamie Ashmore, Lewis Wright, Michael McGrath (Robert Evans 35), Andrew Parsons (c), Joshua Hawker, Michael Nelson (Leam Howards 54), Robbie Bunn, Luke Yates (Jack Downing 54), Shaquille Leachman-Whittingham, Richard Batchelor. Subs Not Used: James Bowen, Jordan Stoddart.
Referee: Steve Durnall Attendance: 354
Booked: McGrath (19), Lawton (72), Gilpin (78)
‘Tulleys Print’ HTFC Man of the Match selected by Russell Lowe of Spencer Signs: Kartel O’Neill-Martin

Re: Redditch Updates
Thank god I won't have to attend another game this season. From start to finish, this season has been an utter shambles.
A complete clear out, bar two or three obvious candidates, is needed.
Oh, and when do season tickets go on sale for next season?

Re: Redditch Updates
I think id try and keep Birch too. Been quite impressed with him the last few games. But yeah. It feels like a weights been lifted now. I thought Redditch showed their MC influences today. Snarling and snapping at each other.AwayDayYeltz wrote: ↑22 Apr 2019, 18:00Thank god I won't have to attend another game this season. From start to finish, this season has been an utter shambles.
