I like the sound of "Lerpy Coates".

I thought the scoreline flattered them, they were rubbish in the first half and we had most of the possession.

Still, the quality of the higher league definitely shone through but Shaun's got a hard job to do this season; the way our heads dropped second half I felt like forsaking my lager and going on the pitch meself... well, nearly ;D

Agreed. We gifted them three of the goals and the other on (the third) was a great run down the wing and a fantastic ball into the box that took out defenders and keeper leaving a simple tap in to score.

Not too worried at this stage about heads dropping, especially to higher level opposition, but I think Shaun really has to shore up the defence. There are several players there who are just not good enough for schoolboy level never mind ours.

From all last years "pre season" including all league and cup matches the defence we put out always seem likely to leak a couple of goals (Evans superb saves restricting it to a couple!) however, with the addition of Ben H we looked liekly to score more than conceeded.

Saturday we hardly tested their keepers at all.

Mr Steane has kept up his tan (or forgot to use fake!) and looked in reasonable shape. Reece looked good at times. Jury still out on Dan Evans.

However, i wish the players would put as much effort into their play than they do their moaning and swearing.
The refereee controlled the game well and allowed it to flow. However, in league matches we could see the return of cards and suspensions for the verbal stuff alone again.

Good shout about Evans in goal John, some brilliant saves from him on Sat.

Although I don't want to post it, I was concerned with Ben drifting out wide and his head dropping very early on in the 2nd half... however, pre-season friendly and all that and maybe my heart ruling my head but I think we'll do okay in the 'new' league :-X
