Can't disagree with any of these comments. Another dreadful performance.

This season is dead and buried (I said that at the start of the month) but, as is now rightly being pointed out, the club itself is in some serious peril. Big changes needed from top to bottom and no sign of anything happening so far.

First game for a month for me. Got to be honest, it was as much to see how much of a car crash things have become. I wasn't disappointed!

We were absolutely dire, I left at 70 minutes and was spared the 5th goal. The players are trying at times but simply not good enough. The simple exercise of setting your team up correctly and doing simple things seems to have completely been neglected. In short this was one of the worst displays by a Yeltz team in my memory. For that I blame a clueless and incompetent management team who have to go but inevitabiy won't.

However, there is a bigger picture here. In its present state the club is sleepwalking into oblivion and will be relegated at a canter. Loyal long term fans are leaving in their droves and by Christmas there will be sub 200 crowds watching the dross being served up. Those voting with their feet after many years are completely disenfranchised by the current regime and won't be back if it drags on.

We are in the same boat as Eastwood were a few years back, we all know how that ended...

Harry Rudge must be turning in his grave!

Have the management team done the decent thing and walked away yet? Enough is enough surely...

Halesowen Town 1 Workington 5

Rock-bottom Halesowen took an early lead but collapsed to be smashed for five in their worst defeat of an already miserable season.

The Yeltz handed debuts to Kalern Thomas, signed from Solihull Moors, and striker John McAtee, on loan from Shrewsbury. Halesowen made a lively start and snatched the lead with an early goal after just five minutes when Daniel UDOH hit a hard, low left foot shot into the bottom corner from just outside the area - beating static goalkeeper Aaran Taylor after his defence failed to close down the danger.

Jack Egan almost levelled for Workington just two minutes later when he controlled in the area but then screwed wide from a tight angle, with Jordan Holt unable to turn home the loose ball at the far post. However, the Reds looked somewhat uncomfortable in these early stages as a 16th minute curling shot from Lee Chilton was pushed away by Taylor and Udoh was blocked from the rebound. Taylor was then alert to save a long range effort from McAtee in the 34th minute.

But the early goal was soon a distant memory as Workington turned the game around in dramatic style to make it an awful afternoon for Halesowen. As the Yeltz once again capitulated, the visitors took full control by hitting four goals within sixteen minutes either side of the interval.

The 35th minute equaliser came at the end of a nicely worked neat move involving Holt, Conor Tinnion and James Earl and his final through-ball allowed leading scorer Scott ALLISON to slot home his seventh goal of the season. The Reds were in front just four minutes later to establish a half-time lead when goalkeeper Dan Platt stranded himself off his line and a misplaced header from Jack Kelly allowed Jack EGAN to loop a header off the post, along the line and into the opposite corner of the net. Just before the break, Chilton flashed a good 41st minute chance wide.

The Yeltz defence fell apart after the interval as Workington hit two more goals in the first six minutes of the second half. A 48th minute throw-in found Tinnion and although he sliced his shot, EGAN was on hand to slam home his second goal into the roof of the net. Workington’s fourth goal was a real cracker to savour as Allison played the ball in for David SYMINGTON to smash his 51st minute volley into the corner of the net.

Dominic Smith had two headers stopped on the opposition line but, with the game over as a contest, Workington cruised to victory and went close again when Symington struck a free-kick from corner of the area just wide after 68 minutes. After a series of substitutions, Allison struck just wide in the 80th minute and Tinnion rattled the post with an 85th minute cross.

The Reds completed the trouncing to make it 5-1 in the second minute of stoppage time when a delightful chip from Earl caught out the home defence and HOLT took the ball forward and stroked home with confidence to complete Halesowen’s humiliation.
