just like to say that trying to get monies from businesses at the moment has been hard and even degrading because of the feelings towards htfc due to we know what, but reading these posts, on what seems to be a negative heading, has made me realise that the there are supporters who will be around to bring back that old yeltz atmosphere so making it all worth while...thanks for that!
Totally agree! Couldnt have said it better myself! Hope is restored ;)

When I submitted this thread I had the thought that I would be deemed “that negative, moaning old git, Lord Lutley! However, ten posts later and it seems that I needn’t have worried. I think! All the responding posts have, more or less, agreed with my basic worry re: falling attendances.
I had no intention of wanting to throw a negative slant on things – I felt I wanted to dip a wizened old toe in the water to see how many others held a similar viewpoint.
Being, for my sins, a regular at all home games I too have noticed the lack of atmosphere and a feeling of resignation from even the diehards. It appears that we are the mainstay each Saturday.
I personally have approached a successful local business, owned by a family member no less, to see if they would consider sponsorship – to no avail. All we can do is continue to support the team with our gate money and hope that results will be the catalyst that brings a few more to The Grove.

I thought they'd just found out they had a big rubbish 'orrible ringroad more than 40 years later and were having a Diamond Jubilee-esque celebration with fold-out tables in the street with cucumber sandwiches, ginger beer, and the obligatory pissed-up uncle etc...

Apologies changesnightspot, I'm guilty of jumping on the bandwagon :P
