A much needed win. Fair play to the players. There was some heroic defending and blocks late on. This needs to be followed up with another positive result. It can't be allowed to be a 'blip'.

I agree. In the second half it was mainly a rearguard action. They largely dominated but the defence really put their bodies on the line and it was much better with Morrison back.

Dunkley had a very good first half but as the game wore on he ploughed a lone furrow and then Bowerman. Far too much distance between the lone forward and the midfield.

Anyway a much needed win.

Well its been a long time coming but that first 45 was worth the wait. Not sure how we survived the second 45 when they looked class, but survive we did. Well done to the lads for an inspiring 1st half (which we now need to see more of) and a resilient 2nd half in which we showed good character. Blimey, 3 points!

What's a difference seven days makes!
Played at a high tempo in the first half and fought hard to keep them out in the second.
Bowerman took his goal well and knocked out any fight that Whitby had left.
What a revelation in Dunkley leading the line! Maybe Kaiman leaving has allowed him to play in his best position.
A very solid team performance where, for me, Chilton stood out.

Agree about Chiltern. For me our man of the match.

Yes we won which is good, but it was far from convincing and generally the same deficiencies were on display. My cousin went today for the first time in years and said 'why are Whitby so much better than Halesowen, is it because they train harder?'. It was better in the first half, we were dominated in the second. Another result that sadly buys John Hill yet more time
