Is a possible appearance from Doc in the offing ? We need time to prepare for such an event, there's bunting to order, warnings to be given to local Ale Houses so that we don't end up with no beers in the Waggon, pies to order......................

Been doing a bit more dossing about on this world-wide-web fing regarding HTFC and after a couple of days it's dawned on me that all it's done is increased my nerd factor (currently attempting light year figures) and most of the stuff about HTFC I knew anyway as I've always kept an eye on them to be fair, wherever I've lived within the Midlands...

...it's just that seeing HTFC down The Grove again after nearly a quarter of a century was always on my 'To Do' list (yet back burner type of thing) and I've realised that HTFC aren't joking - they really need people like me to get off my fat backside, actually go, support the club, and help 'em out.
There must be hundreds of other blokes like me (one or two of them are mates of mine so I'll be nagging them too) and if every one of them made the effort, I think the club would be in a better place, metaphorically.

My wife thinks it's an excellent idea (keeps me away from a hobby I'm currently trying to jack in, details in future posts...) and I do too; okay, I work shifts and won't be going to every game but I find it all very constructive, refreshing and a good cause rather than sitting in the boozer all day (to which I'm partial to), "socialising"on networks all day (to which I'm partial to), playing video games (to which I'm partial to) and 'activities' of a similar ilk.

Yeah, it's time to do it.

I'm not looking for plaudits though, it just feels right and whilst reading my earlier posts it looks like I know nothing of my beloved home town football, I have very fond memories of my first game about 1988*, love and know my football and to be honest am quite excited to be going down on the 11th (sister's birthday, oops!) against Abingdon United.


* 3-3 home draw, including a penalty and an overhead kick from a guy whom I remember resembled a lanky-kind-of Dave Bennett and the crowd cheering so loudly every time Sean Flynn touched the ball they almost levitated - anyone know of the game I'm on about?
