Fantastic player.
How can you post such garbage? Are you serious?

You've seen what, four of those players? Ben, Asa Charlton and Sean Flynn (and Stefan Moore for the Villa I guess). But to say you wouldn't have any of them in the current squad, which incidentally is a poor squad in comparison to some of the squads of the past, and when you've never seen most of the players on the list, your comment is just beyond a joke. Posts like that make you look like you have absolutely no respect for the history of the club. Did it only start when you rocked up 18 months ago?

I'd have Nick Amos and Dean Brennan back any day.

I never saw Paul Birch in a Yeltz shirt but saw plenty of him in a Villa shirt. A smashing bloke who sadly is no longer with us after passing away from bone cancer some 6 years ago.
I remember him putting the great Lothar Mattaus (At the time the German National Team captain) in his pocket at Villa Park in one game against Inter Milan.
Paul Birch was always my favourite Villa player until Paul McGrath came along. I can only imagine 'Birchy' played with the same desire in a Yeltz shirt as a Villa shirt.

Raiden- I think Lee and Paul might just get in the present squad. They did, after all, occasionally get a goal! ;)

So you just need to imagine how good he must have been in the Southern Premier! Incredible player for us, such a tragic loss. :(

Some great names on that list. And lots of fine players not on the list too!!

Still not decided on my vote for later. Expect it could go to several from the regular line up.

Some real quality in the previous winners list. Just think what they did for us and in some cases achieved later on. Whoever wins the award is joining esteemed company.

Andy, fear not, one of the back line will be getting my vote!

Think that came out wrong - Sean Flynn boyhood hero at the Albion. Too old / not going long enough to appreciate the rest!

No disrespect to any former players intended!

Putting my well known love of the V***a to one side, I have to say Paul was probably one of the best to have pulled on a Town shirt. Oozed quality and a lovely bloke also. His death at such a young age was an absolute tragedy.

Just realised the sweetest passer of a ball the Grove has seen and a great all round midfielder, never got the award. Shows what a cracking side he played in for many a year. The player, Malcolm Hazlewood.
