Re: Ramsbottom Updates
Just on the way home on the coach now, so a fairly briefing match analysis from me for now, I'm sure Rob will give a more fuller, articulated version later....
Yes a good decent point overall, but not a great game really. One that had the feel of an end of an season affair about it really.
We started the game brightly and very much in the same way against Stourbr*dge and went ahead in the first few minutes from Joe Hull, following up from a rebound after Christie's shot was initially saved by the keeper.
After that, we sort of faded and whilst we had a lot of pressure and possession in and around their area, I can't remember their keeper having a decent shot to save for the rest of the game.
They had a chance just before half time that hit the post and bounced out that somehow didn't cross the line which we were fortunate with.
Second half, they equalised with a rebound from a free-kick that deflected after the original shot had hit our wall. Was probably no more than that deserved really.
In the end they could have won it but Sarge make some great saves to keep us in the game and see us hang onto a well grafted point.
Overall, think a draw was probably about a fair result. They edged it on terms of the better chances but we battled well and think it would have been harsh for us to have lost the game, but tbh we never looked like winning the game!
Cracking away day though, really enjoyed it!
Up the Yeltz!

Re: Ramsbottom Updates
A very good assessment. I was just wondering if rtb would have given us a little bit more? Think we were lacking a bit of pace up front.
Things I liked about Ramsbottom
1. Great meat and potato pies (had to refuse the kind offer of Doughnuts/cupcakes) hope you had a great birthday.
2. They had a really good fast bowler
3. If I was 25 years younger I would have said the barmaid in the cricket club
Great day out

Re: Ramsbottom Updates
I think Dalevillain has summarised well. Sargeant was the busier keeper in the end with some good saves though we played reasonably well in the first half.
Rammy was a nice place and the stop off at Bury market was worth the visit.

Great, loved it!
Yes cracking away day. Nice little town for that matter too. Right next to a train station with 'diesel' Steam Trains (private joke, those that were there will know.) Also cracking pub next to the station called The Railway with good food and good looking barmaids too.
Nice ground too and and as programme collector as well I was very impressed with their version, full colour and would rival some league clubs. (Must cost them a fortune in printing!)
And yes the barmaid in the Cricket Club was worth a look too.

Yes, the programme was really good, had to check they hadn't given me two.
Liked the article "from the dark side" about the away travellers experience. Maybe you lads could do one for our programme?
No sign of the Rammy ultra's yesterday though
