Return to the Eighties?

Post by Pantverdant » 08 Mar 2015, 12:30

As a Midlands football fan it pained me to see the disgraceful scenes at Villa Park
Saturday gone.
Being a Yeltz fan of over 35 years standing it concerned me that the hooligans who
get thrown out of Villa and WBA will gravitate towards our family club as they did
during the famous cup runs of the early eighties.
I particularly remember the tie away at Frickley during the miners strike when we
took many coachloads of fans and goaded by the striking workers we saw sporadic
outbreaks of fighting inside the ground, and those ejected or unable to afford the
entrance fee, lobbed lumps of coal over the fences surrounding the ground.
That game provided good memories like yesterdays game, but also ones of shame
on Association Football as the match made the national news bulletins that evening.

We as a club must co-operate with neighbouring clubs of every hue including particularly
our friends at Amblecote,to make sure our matches against FCUM and Stourbridg e go
smoothly.

Hi ya Pantverdant, being third generation Villian for my sins, have followed The mighty Yeltzs. from very early Paddy Page times, through great times, good times and as we all know, the bad, shall l say the murky times. ;) ;)
What happen at Villa Park yesterday is indeed an utter disgrace, totally over paid prima donna's. player say to the younger fans, we are a example of what you can become, are these player really serious, unfortunately very quickly they believe their own superior ego as soon as they reach the main squad. ;) ;)

I will stick and stand by The Mighty Yeltz through all that will come our way no matter what happens. :D :D

I see fantastic Yeltz men and women pay their way to watch the team home and away, its honour to stand
with them match after match, read the comments made by loads of clubs in this league, remembering this
is our first season in the NPL. Clubs ARE beginning to take more notice of HTFC, because we will not give up, all the challenges that we have already won, but if we can stay together, stand together as one "The Yeltz Family" will not just survive, grow stronger, maybe one day the Conference, all things are possible. :D :D
:D
All we ask of our players is they give their all each time they step over that white line and they do every game, yes we have had some mighty battles so far, with many more to come this season still. ;) ;)

We know next season will be tougher/ more tougher, take a look at the other premier league sides waiting their turn to get into this league, yes its going to be to be hard journey, with a lot of clubs with loads more money, bigger squads, more facilities, youth policies and the rest. At the end of the day we can succeed, patients and time is what we need, there is no sugar daddy about, not that we know of. ;) ;)

So we battle on with all good intentions, keep the faith Yeltz men and women. we can succeed, we will succeed, just be patient... Come on Ye Mighty Yeltzzzzz :D :D :D :D :D .

Whilst the scenes at Villa Park are no doubt embarrassing for both clubs I think a little bit of perspective needs to be gained. I've been to many football grounds around Europe where serious problems have occurred. Yesterday was nothing by comparison. (Not that that makes it ok of course.)

The media obsession with Villa's pitch invasion was on the whole ridiculous. In the main, many Villa fans were merely celebrating a day at Wembley over their near neighbours who've been giving it "the big 'un" for the last couple of years. Yes, sadly a few morons spoilt it by approaching and taunting Albion players and going on the pitch when they scored. Whilst there was no violence I can fully understand and appreciate that things can get out of hand and players shouldn't have to put up with that. However the vast majority were on the pitch in celebration. If anything, I just think it makes Villa fans look small time, especially when they've took piss out of Albion fans for pitch invasions in recent years for celebrating finishing 17th and Blues fans for getting to a final.

Not much seems to have been mentioned by comparison about the moronic Albion fans who were ripping out seats and throwing them at Villa fans below. I don't want to make this a Villa v Albion debate particularly as Villa fans shouldn't have been on the pitch for ANY reason but Villa have been quick to come out and criticise their morons, maybe Albion should do the same. Albion fans also had a good go at damaging some of the inside of the ground too and there are videos of them letting off fire extinguishers.

There are many thoroughly decent Albion and Villa fans who will be critical of this stupid behaviour and in my eyes will be most welcome at Halesowen, as for the morons attached to both clubs they'll not be welcome here. I can't see them wanting to come here though.

The FCUM fans were brilliant at their place. Many shook our hands as they left, wished us a safe journey home and thanked us for coming to the game, some even thanked us for trying to outsing them and making an atmosphere. For the 90 minutes all they did was sing about their team and their club, even if they were provoked by some part time morons at our place I doubt they would get a reaction, their support was much classier than that...

Yes Rob have seen the performers in concourses re video, with the fire extinguishers, as you say not a lot said about the Albion so called fans by media, its usually the minority having their little jolly time, compared to the majority just there for the game and few drinks, the banter.

Still bud at least, we know where we will be on saturday.....HTFC....for sure, with all the Yeltz men and women, cheering on THE MIGHTY YELTZ TEAM THATS FOR SURE :D :D
