Perhaps not quite the same as Birchy but Mark Taylor was a touch of class.

Maybe. I hope not though, Grif has been playing very well, although Laity did get the odd run-out in that role.

I cant believe it. I couldn't remember his name and have just trawled through our complete player list (starting at A) to find him. I get back on here and you've beaten me to the punch. Anyway the best since Paul Birch has to be Mark Taylor.

He was a good 'un.

And if he was 5'10", Alan Attwood was 9'3".

Yeah, sorry about that, Andy. I'm surprised Mark Taylor (according to Wikipedia) only turned out for us during one season, my memory makes me think he was around for longer than that. Plus I didn't know his actual first name was Robert- aka Bob Taylor. You live and learn.

Mark Taylor's debut was at the start of season 2001/02 and his last game was in the following season, on 12th October 2002 in the FA Cup at Moor Green

I remember that Hastings game. *shudders*

More importantly though, why doesn't the video clip of Kirk Masters' goal work?

Come on Poll, sort it out!

I keep meaning to mention this and this is probably the wrong place to do it but some years ago on sky sports News I believe Kirk Masters appeared in a report on something or other and he is now chairman of a football club in Leicestershire or involved with the Leicestershire FA or something like that?

Seems like he was involved with Leicester Nirvana, who are a big youth team set-up and have a link with Thurnby Nirvana of the United Counties League.
I always preferred The Pixies...
