I thought the player was called Tony Robinson for a split second and that John Hill had hatched a cunning plan to turn our fortunes around...

Indeed I am sure he and the management do and are acting on it.

Keep the faith.

Didn't think anyone is doubting the fans or the commitment of the team. However, simply as supporters it is only logical to doubt why if genuine midfielders and strikers are not succeeding (scoring goals and winning) playing against genuine midfielders and strikers, how hoping players playing out of position is likely to work. No loss of faith at all, I guess just almost everyone on here would have felt happier about an announcement of a new forward player rather than another defender. Maybe I should have used the word excited to?

Maybe it's just a matter of timing? John Hill is no fool, he can see our issues at the moment as much as anyone. Maybe he can't get a certain player at the moment as they're involved in the FA Cup, does that mean he shouldn't sign a defender who he believes will improve us because of this?
Every time there has been a deficiency or weakness in the squad John Hill has rectified this and bought in better players pretty much every time. He has more than earned the right to do things his way and I find it a little disrespectful that people are questioning his judgement. Take a step back and look where we were when he took over. He's doing a great job with the resources available to him. I'm sure if his wage budget was bigger then it would be a damn site easier too. Progress has been made, and will continue to be made I'm sure but please be realistic with your ambitions.
Is it simply as case than JH wants to bring in the right player of geuine quality rather than bring in just any old player. Every team in this league is looking for that goalscorer or creative midfielder why would they chose Halesowen? If it is just for the money do we want someone like that? They'll soon move on if someone else came in with a few quid? I'd rather JH get the right player, with the right attitude. If we have to wait for him, then so be it!

In John Hill I trust!

Agree with you entirely AVFC.

One thing we know about John is that he won't rush anything which will cause us to panic. Still plenty of time to sort things out.

All well and good saying we need a striker and midfielder. All about the ££££ though isn't it. How can you bring in players that can't play in the FA Cup??

Never thought about the FA Cup tied factor. But makes sense. I guess you'll see more signing as more teams our level are knocked out.

Who would want to miss a first round tie with a league club? I wouldn't if I was a player. I don't as a fan!

Give John Hill some credit.

1st season (not full) possible to be in the play offs last game of the season.
1st FULL season top of the table since January except 1 week and win the league as champions.

Lets not look back but forwards to the future and the new era and history.

Bit harsh. You can never have too much quality.

I believe John will persist with Tilt in midfield. Why not? He's done well there, so getting another versatile player only strengthens our options.

I believe he can play left back too. So added cover and / or competition for Asa.

Don't get the negativity to be honest? Every signing John has made has strengthened us in some way. No doubt this new lad will continue you the trend.

John Hill has my full support, I wish others would follow suit!
