Working party at The Grove - tomorrow

Post by RobYeltz » 14 Jul 2014, 21:16

We had a good turn out last week, hopefully we can get the same tomorrow! Still quite a bit to do before the season starts but nothing too strenuous if we have enough hands on board! Hopefully see you there!

Poor turnout tonight meant those that did come ended up staying longer than usual. We really only have Thursday to get things done with a game on Saturday and playing at home next Tuesday. Please just try and give us half an hour on Thursday.
Jobs in need of doing before we kick off;

- Goal area to be finished off.
- Dug outs need final coat of paint.
- Tidy up of press box, (and vacuuming) also windows being cleaned inside and out.
- Strimming of weeds on the banks.
- Removal of old earth from near goals.
- Wheelie bins need removing/emptying (quite a few)
- Advertising boards to be put up (Chris to advise)
- Nets need putting on the goals.
- General sweeping/tidying.

Not really a lot of work if we have a good number of people there, if we get 3/4 folk we'll be there most of the evening. Hopefully see you on Thursday.

One less job - advertising boards don't need doing as an external company will be coming in to do these.

( They all need cleaning though :o )

As I saw from last night, everything is coming along nicely now. Pitch actually looks great, the ground is starting to look neater and there's only a few things to tidy up before it looks great. Many hands make light work, so as mentioned if we get a few down there then we should easily finish within that evening

be there as soon as the A456 lets me again AV.

Bringing the Baggie with me again and already clued him up and think he'll be joining the group moving the mound behind the Shed end goal, as for me, I am the mound ;D

Goal areas now completed
Both goals and nets put up.
Some general tidying done.
Advertising boards all done - look fantastic!
Some of the soil has been removed from old goalmouths

To do:
Strimming of the banks
More soil to be removed (priority)
Rubbish removed more tidying
Press box to be tidied.

I'll be there on Monday from 10am if anyone is available during the day to help in preparation of game on Tuesday.
