I left about half 2 and and Steve was still there- pushing a mower!

Ant will be there about 9.30 tomorrow.

Just a few things:

Those wanting to go to the ground on days that aren't the "working parties" can contact ant who's details are on the website.

I went down the ground today and can honestly say the pitch is the worst I have known it in 15 years... It needs a lot of work so as many fans need to get down to help :-) It's actually worse than at the end of the season but hopefully can be fixed for the start of the season (probably not pre season in my opinion). We also need to remember there will be less games on the grove this coming season which will help!

Just to defend charlieboy a little bit... People are accusing him of coming over bitter and nasty... I read it as a very concerned fan who has seen the pitch and is shocked and worried about its state... It's been over a month since the last game and the pitch should be looking healthy and isn't... those that think its an exaggeration need to go and have a look. I do agree though that moaning on a forum without offering to help isn't constructive

No youth team
Maybe no ladies (still waiting for an answer of Steve)
Maybe no WBA (see above)
And only training on it once instead of twice a week (an alternate venue has been found for the second training day)

Just spoken to Ant, he is there now until this afternoon if anyone is free to pop down and help out.

I'm hoping to get down about 12 and stay til I'm chucked out.

My first post. I shouldn't rise to the bait but this charlieboy character is doing my head in. Why do ask we're the owner is? If you were there you would know.why don't you go to the ground and find out. A non league football club doesn't run itself, you can't throw money at everything if the money isn't there. If there where more ants and Sheila's and less charlieboys maybe a bit more progress would be made. Just my thoughts.

Would our status as a community club be under threat if we do not have the above teams?
A lot of people worked hard to achieve this award for the club.

Also, I still find it strange to not continue with the youth team - I am assuming this is finance related.
If so,how can we possibly encourage new fans from local schools (and their parents) to attend the grove?
Do we currently have any teams associated/financed by HTFC - e.g the Colts?

I appreciate that the 25% admission price was probably necessary to enable us to compete at a higher level and along with the revenue from the new bar this would hopefully bring a breakeven result but I am not happy with the proposed team cuts above, cost savings yes, but penny pinching NO.
Does anybody know what crowd numbers our budget is based on for next season?

Lastly, and back to the subject of this thread, we are very lucky to have the loyal support of many volunteers to help behind the scenes at no cost - without this and the Trust we would probably end up like Eastwood ...............
