In the Gasboys head to head, you missed out the friendly we played against them last year in which we lost 1-0, if I'm not mistaken.

Well spotted. I dont tend to keep track of pre-season friendlies as we dont have all the records.BBNOW100 wrote:In the Gasboys head to head, you missed out the friendly we played against them last year in which we lost 1-0, if I'm not mistaken.

Usually I tend to agree with you about people not really remembering pre season friendlies, they are obviously good for fitness, new players and seeing if things gel, when we played Stour in the friendly they were made as pre season title favourites in the Southern League at 7/1 I believe, in that game though it was a friendly we played them off the park, but lost 1-0. This game gave me confidence that we would do ok in our league, £10 staked on us to win our league at 16/1. 9 months or so later thanks very much !!!
So friendlies for me do give you an insight into what could happen, as well as provide good preparation for the new season for the players, also give us supporters games to go to finally after 3 or 4 months of climbing the walls !
