John Hill

Post by Laurel Lane Lamper » 27 Apr 2014, 08:56

John Hill will justifiably be feeling very satisfied and proud this morning. There's good reason to believe he's as good as, if not better than, any manager we've had at The Grove. Certainly the number of wins his side has had this season, as a percentage of the total played, is much higher than any season since our Vase era.

His appointment brought some surprise when popular ex-Yeltz players were also in the running but he's proved to be highly organised, analytical and driven, characteristics also shown by the make-up of his excellent assistants.

Whoever had the perception to identify John's qualities and asserted to secure a majority from the interview panel can feel equally satisfied and proud this morning, as indeed we all are.

Can't recall exactly but looked yesterday, since the defeat to Scarborough away, weve lost 2, drawn 3 and won 19. Winning our last 10. Incredible.

Yesterday summed it up for me, tactically brilliant. We all think we are managers and tactically aware during games but to ACTUALLY do it, stand by it, and be successful with it is another thing altogether. To John and his team, well done and thank you!

to be fair winning 29 out of 40 league games is a fantastic achievement! reminds me of captaining Lye CC in which we had a similar run ! :)
