Please don't throw weather into the equation. Historically that doesn't bode well either! The league will probably arrange a new date a day before the play offs.:-/

Getting nervous now, but it doesn't show does it.....
If we could talk about something else, anything, it might help. Maybe the moons of Jupiter or cake recipes....

Ok, I've got the I believe, I believe, I believe mantra in my head now. Trouble is until I was 40 I believed in Father Christmas as well. Life has this cruel way of kicking you in the nuts....

Really looking forward to this one - the last few games have been enjoyable, especially the away ones.
Looking back to the last big game being the 2008 play off final at Twerton I was surprised to see the crowd was 838 that day - made up of approx 500 Yeltz, 100 students and 238 neutrals (is it really nearly 6 years ago!)
I expect a similar number of Yeltz tomorrow and it should be a great atmosphere and maybe a nervous one?
This time the game tomorrow means so much more to me as the progress by this team has been earnt honestly - no spending money we did not have flying in overseas players, paying the likes of Caskey £700 per week etc, etc
Tomorrow's reward may be 'only' a return to the level we were at before but the great thing for me is the additional interest this has created at our club and long may it continue! Onwards and Upwards I say !
We have certainly come a long, long way since the the dark days of the August 2009 boycotted games including this one I was at : Home to Hemel Hempstead - 15/8/2009 - crowd 96 ! - score a 1 nil win (check out the empty terraces!)

Re: Belper, biggest game for years, our support.
Good post GingerYeltz.
What's refreshing for me is how many members on here are posting, you can feel the vibe, I hope the players read this as I am sure it will fire them up more knowing we believe in them etc.
As Kev has said we have come a long way, we have had lots of downs and come through the other side, this is an up period, this is what I say about playing our part, we might not be able to cross the white line and physically help the lads, but we can play a part, sometimes when one of our players misses a chance or makes a mistake, they can go 2 ways, let it affect them and play on their minds, or get over it move on and score the next one, or make sure a repeat doesn't happen. You can see the disappointment on their faces straight away when something hasn't gone their way, this is where we need to encourage so they don't have those self doubts, they can dust themselves down and be twice as determined in the same situation. Games like this against Belper can be decided by the minutest details. Let's make sure we help them so it does go away.
Prepare yourself for one of the most nerve jangling, nail biting, stomach churning football match ever ! Sit back, embrace and enjoy ! We can do this ! Come on lads !

Re: Belper, biggest game for years, our support.
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more,
Then imitate the action of the tiger,
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height. On, on you noblest Yeltz.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game’s afoot.
Follow your spirit and upon this charge
Cry ‘ Come on Yeltz, Haseley and The George.’
With deepest apologies to the other Mr Shakespeare!
