Another impact of this deduction of Leek's 3 points is that if, or when, the league table is adjusted upon Eastwood's record being expunged, Leek have now already been deducted their 3 points through this decision and so would not lose them again .

I can't see how that is fair. When all results are expunged Leek will be no worse off than us, the player has received a punishment why shouldn't the club?

Having lost the 3 points for the match through this decision, Leek now have no points to deduct when Eastwood points are expunged.

Hmm. I think (hope) that Noggin has it right.

The breach of rules should be treated as an offence regardless of Eastwood's fate, much as disciplinary points from cards handed out in those matches still count.

Any deduction of points due to Eastwood's demise should be a seperate matter.

But, this opinion is firmly stated in hope rather than knowledge...

I'm sure that the clubs' administrators will seek some clarification and let us know.

A bit more digging whilst waiting for my flight and it seems that they just lose the 3 points that they won during the match.
So, if Eastwood are expunged, they still only lose three.

Boo, hiss.

Easy come, easy go...

Edit - 1000 posts. Woo!

Surely they will lose a further 3 points as that will mean this current punishment is not actually a punishment and in fact us, Belper and Coalville are being punished.

They won't. League officials have confirmed on the NPL Facebook page.
It seems that the punishment is that you lose any points gained in the fixture affected.

Set out below is how it was confirmed on NPL Facebook last night:

"We have had the 3 points deducted that we won against Eastwood, then if all points won against them are subsequently deducted, we will get nothing deducted as we technically won no points against them!"

"Leek are correct as the rule states the club shall have any points gained from that match (Eastwood T) deducted from its record."

"how does that affect the player then who has already had to serve a suspension for an incident against a Eastwood."

"Nothing to do with the player and the club have been fined which stays. It's just the points "gained""

Scandalous.

In effect Leek have been allowed to get away with fielding an illegible player.
