Re: Belper Updates
Referee ruined it.
Was so poor.
They're a team full of cheats.
Don't think we did enough to win, but then again, how can we with little protection from the ref and the continously allowed bad sportsmanship and time wasting?

Re: Belper Updates
we struggled to cope with the balls they put in from set pieces which was the undoing really and looked very leggy in the second half without really much to bring on of the bench, just the run of tough games taking there toll.
Now the ref.....was intimidated by them and effectively let them referee the game, how the 5 wasn't sent off in the second half is anyones guess, and as for the red card they barely touched and he just couldn't wait to get out the red card....very weak performance

Re: Belper Updates
Some very uncharacteristic defensive mistakes cost us the game and we seemed unable to mark or defend crosses and set pieces today. Losing Tonksy was a big miss in the 2nd half as I don't think we'd have lost, but losing discipline by doing a Pardew at the end didn't help.
With Coalville winning 4-0 and Leek 4-1 it's not been a good day.

Contender for worst ref ever? I genuinely think he was worse than the one who blew for full time after 88 mins.....

Re: Belper Updates
I always try and find positives from every performance, win, lose or draw and today showed me once again how much the players care for the club. Once again, I thought they gave their all in a very difficult game. The Mackenzie strike of course was the highlight. I've never criticised individual players, and I'm not about to start now, but I thought today we looked tired, not so much physically but mentally. To concede the goals we did, in the way we did was incredibly frustrating bearing in mind recent defensive performances. To concede so many goals from set pieces was incrediblbly uncharacteristic of us. I don't put this down to ability but collectively our concentration wasn't good enough.
They absolutely intimidated there way through the game I thought. I'm not going to blame the referee for the result, I never have and never will, but he was enormously out of his depth. For such a young referee to be given a game like that was plain wrong. When the opposition manager and coach agrees with my enville ale induced 'advice' from behind the dug out it tells you all you need to know about the level of competency from the officials. The complete and utter inconsistency was startling. Whilst some might not agree with the abuse he received at the end I feel he was deserving of it. I'm held to account for what I do to earn my pennies, so should he be. The sending off of Forde and lack of sending off of their No5 was bordering on corrupt.
We're not out of this by a long way, but in all honesty we could do without playing on Monday night, the suspensions and injuries are starting to take there toll on the squad and reinforcements are needed quickly. With respect to the new lad from the RAF who did ok, we need an experienced head at this level of football and quickly.
I guess it depends on our aspirations really. If we're happy to accept the play off's then fine, if we want to win this league we have to strengthen. If Tonks is out for a while he'll be a big loss making the need for strengthening even greater with no Lait, Guyes, and soon to be Forde.
The lads will need every bit on support on Monday to get back on track, do all you can to be there...

Re: Belper Updates
Cheated. Pure and simple. I have seen refs make big mistakes, i have seen refs that were poor for 90 minutes, never before have i seen one who blatently cheated. He gave them EVERYTHING. Every time a Belper player made a claim he gave it them. Unfair challenges on our players were somehow given to them. If thier defender went up for a ball he won a foul for apparent backing in. If our defender won an identical ball he was apparently climbing.(As for the free kick for one of thier goals). It was nothing short of farcical. They were a big strong side, yet went down like sacks of potatoes, and bleated and moaned like kiddies. Pathetic. The red card, yes he stupidly raised his hand, but the Belper player reeled round as if punched by a heavyweight. A bit more crying to the ref and he bought it. Belper were able to show thier strength in a fair way against a poor defensive perfomance yet all over the park the ref protected them like babies. Ben gets nearly scythed in half, yellow card?, not on your life. Just a little talking to, maybe about his lift home. Scandalous.
As for us, our normally rock solid defence struggled big time today, but the rest of the team still played well. Down but most definitely not out.

I wouldn't say the ref cheated he was shit.
I question Belper"s sportsmanship. I thought it was disgusting tbh.

@paulobrien1981: @RAFFootballMDS captain @TJchard8 making his debut for @halesowentownfc in a great game so far. Let's hope the next 45 are as good!
