I seem to remember McNaugton was the yeltz trust chairman of the time preferred option to Ingrams.

We were asked to vote for either for the trust to support.

He most certainly wasn't.

Wrong John. Rob MacNaughton has never been a Trust member

Must stop posting from phone as can't read properly.

Meeting in the Yeltz bar of the trust members.
The yeltz trust Chairman at the time wanted the members to vote to support McNaugton or Ingrams as owner of the club to be backed by the trust. McNaughton was the preferred option of that Chairman.

If only we could all see into the future.

Hmmm, as "that Chairman" it's still not a correct recollection of the facts.

I certainly didn't favour McNaughton and at that stage it wasn't even clear that the Ingrams were quite as bad as they ended up being.

As with all Trusts, all we did was present the options and ask for the opinions of the membership.

My opinion, whatever it was at the time, was only worth one vote, the same as everybody else's.

;D

I commented offline that we might all have come down one Saturday to see the pitch oddly lumpy and about 20 feet higher than we remembered it.

Either that or Prosser's Bonk would have not only returned but have stared to challenge K2...

I do recall, J.C., that at that meeting I spoke up stating that it was unfair ,at that time, for the members to have to vote on our preferred option as we knew so little about the candidates. What entailed was a vote on whether or not we should be hold such a vote. I believe it was carried unanimously that no such vote should be taken.
