Some eyebrow raising signings going on at Spalding United. Less confident this will be a romp than I was…

I wouldn't worry.

One of the high profile signings they announced, says he hasn't signed for them.

Yeah I saw he was very eager to make clear he hadn’t signed for them, which given the club had announced him I found amusing. Marcus Maddison still a handy player at step 4 you’d suspect though!

He is not related to James Maddison but had a very good spell at Peterborough.

He’s had some well-publicised off the field issues, which is why he’s ‘retired’ from pro-football.
