Great win !! Looks like our Youth team are on a roll.
The only time I've seen them was against Rugby, one of the matches they've lost and even then they had loads more chances than the visitors and could have won easily.

A superb first half display by the lads, which probably should have seen us more than 1 up at half time. Gueyes scored a left footed volley from 20 yards after 4 minutes. James Wildsmith and Joe Drake were rarely threatened at the back.
The 2nd period was a different story!! Within 5 minutes a sloppy give away gave ttelford the equaliser as their pacey striker Smith capitalised. The game had by now turned into an end to end encounter. The turning point came on 80 minutes when the Telford keeper handled the ball outside his area when Aaron Taylor was through on goal, he received a straight Red.
On 86 minutes Gueyes turned provider as he outpaced the right back and cut the ball back to substitute Brade who side footed home from 12 yards.

The youth side sneaked into the 3rd round qualifying of the FA Youth cup last night, after beating Racing Club Warwick 2-1 AET.
Rhys Brade got the opening goal with a stunning individual effort after 20 minutes, but the Blues were pegged back early in the 2nd half.
The game went into Extra time and a superb ball by Dale Reid and steady finish from substitute Spencer Blackham saw the Yeltz home.
Captain James Bragg picked up a nasty head injury late on, but has been stitched up and should be back available soon.

Well done lads another good performance.
On chances created we could have won 3 games never mind just scraping through this one. mind you their goalkeeper was outstanding making several superb saves to keep the score respectable
Rhys Brades goal was straight out the top drawer, a shot from outside the box which arrowed into the top corner the goalie had no chance

Its either Calverton MW or Deeping Rangers in next round, looking forward to it.

Congratulations to all the lads and management of the youth team! It's great to see them being rewarded with an exciting FA Cup run, for all the hard work of the last 18 months.

There are some really great lads in the teams both in playing ability, and as young men, and I had great pleasure in working with them. Andre & Mark have added some extra quality to the squad, which is now paying off with fantastic results.

I hope they can all keep it going, and get rewarded with an away tie in the FA Cup against a big name league club so that they all get to experience playing at a big ground environment. I also think they can really push for promotion, and even the title this season.

If you are a Yeltz supporter, and haven't yet been to a youth game, then you don't know what your missing! They play great attacking, expansive football, which really is a pleasure to watch.

Good luck to everyone involved, long may the success continue, as it can only be a matter of time before the lads progress into the first team set-up.

Jamie
