In these days of equality, the bus pass arrived 5 years ago. Perhaps I should use it for away travel? I remember using Midland Red buses in the 60s to watch the Villa at Filbert Street, Leicester. We were thrashed by either a Derek Dougan or Frank Worthington inspired Leicester side. A long bus journey back.
Including some early matches when I spent more time playing on swings in the old Rec than watching a game, it's 57/58 years watching The Yeltz now. My memory always tricks me to believe Steve Piearce's hat-trick at Bath was on my birthday in 1998 but I check and it was over a month earlier. I have to settle for Ian Aldridge giving us a 1-0 win at Twerton Park in 2000. 3 points down there were always welcome.
I often wonder if Wilf Jones could have been our oldest player. He joined when we reformed in 1946 after World War II and had a testimonial in 1953 (hopefully the programme has uploaded successfully. So far I've got Wilf playing 280 times at centre half for us but there are 2/3 more season still to research for that to increase.

If I may suggest that in the 1960's, The Doog would have been inspiring The Crisps, as I believe that the John Hill lookalikey was somewhat later in the '70's.
Great to hear of old tales of Midland Red bus trips to matches. Mighty fine tales.
My Dad, somewhat older than yourself, recalls watching us play Hendon in the first round of the Cup in
1953(?) and can even name the whole team to this day.
He worked with Norman Clifton the Yeltz keeper on the day and, on returning to work on the Monday, his fellows workers had had his life! He was quite relieved to go out for a lunchtime stroll with Dad.
He also tells of times when the teams used to change in The Waggon on the Stourbr*dge Road and run up to The Grove to play. Not sure what era that was but I'll ask.

I remember seeing him make his Wolves debut on Easter Monday at Huddersfield, he was signed for their promotion push. That was an afternoon k.o. and we made a double header by calling in at Sheff Utd on the way back for their evening k.o.
