Re: Telford tickets
It never seems right to finish a long league season and then hurtle straight into one-match play-offs in quick succession.
Two legs would be fairer and better balanced. I don't favour the National League approach of single match play-offs and also adding another round to accommodate teams finishing 6th and 7th, who don't really deserve to be promoted. They could easily have stuck to two-legged semi-finals for teams places 2nd to 5th.
For reference, last night, in the 14 play-off games in the National League (N and S), the Northern Premier and the Isthmian League, 12 were won by the home side, but there was still some drama.
Chasetown went out on penalties at Congleton having missed a penalty in extra time. Boreham Wood managed to turn around a 1-3 deficit against Dorking from the 83rd minute. The winning goal was real redemption - the player who scored it had also earlier netted twice - for the opposition!

It's amazing how often the scorer of an OG the scores at the correct end. It seems to me it happens often, unless it appears more often than it actually is because it's easily recognisable and sticks out so much.

On the subject of play offs …. Anybody got a better memory than me …I recall going to watch Alvechurch v Stourbr*dge for an afternoon kick off. It must have been the semi final as Alvechurch won and then went to Kings Lynn in the final. I can’t for the life of me work out how it was an afternoon kick off other that in must have been a Saturday or a bank holiday.

the Southern League couldn't agree with the teams when and where it would be played etc due to 'external' issues (4s and 6s!)......... eventually they played it at Alvechurch, 4th place, (not at Stour, 3rd place as Wiki states) on 4th May 2019 which was indeed a Saturday, before the regional final on the Bank Holiday and the super final the following weekend as it was the 1st year the Southern League split into Central and South and of course the FA cocked that up ending with a super finalold git wrote: ↑Yesterday, 15:35On the subject of play offs …. Re: Telford tickets
Old Git ,didn't we play team bath at twerton park on a Saturday afternoon after we had played chips and ham in a rearranged match on the thursday. We asked for the match to be played on the following bank holiday monday, but the southern league would n't allow it, . The sceptics said it was because the league wanted the disliked team bath , out of the league because they were funded by tax payers money and abused the situation.
