Full time: 1.1

Much better overall performance. Positive to take on to the next game... Really impressed with the front two tonight.

Better performance, but my views on the management still stand.

The attendance was shocking, again, and tells you all you need to know. People are now staying away. Some fans even want us to lose, in order to force change. This is what it has come to.

Why aren't the club acting? If John Hill is un-sackable, which sadly, I'm led to believe he is, then can the club come out and state why he is un-sackable?

Our best performance of the season, and yet Stafford could have won it at the end...although they were offside, they were queuing up at the back post to head it in. This was the last minute of the game!

Come on!

261 for a league game. When was the last time it was that low?

Let's not forget a good 80-100 of those were Stafford fans.

Come on Halesowen Town, someone from the club please wake up, and do something about the falling attendances!

Enjoyable game, fair result. We played some good high tempo 'proper' football and the front 2 and Chilli gave them some real problems. Asa immense as per. Interesting to put in perspective though that Stafford fans were saying it was poor fair while we thought it well worth the entrance fee. We have set our sights very low I suspect. Saying that though I'm finishing on a positive and saying well done to all.

It was an improvement on recent performances of course, won't say the best performance as I thought against Barwell we actually tried to play football.

Anyway, can't be too critical of the players as they battled hard and I'd say a point was probably a fair reflection of the game.

It appears that a managerial change is unlikely to happen and it's only early September and we are in a relegation battle already so I suppose in that respect it's another point closer to safety. But it shows how low as a club we have sunk to when this is a seen as a positive and as already mentioned the ever sinking attendances is worrying, and AGAIN no comment from the club on the future.

Still - as long as you have a good time with mates and they do chips in the canteen then life is good isn't it?! Apparently.

Halesowen Town 1 Stafford Rangers 1

Halesowen had to settle for a point after on-loan Oliver Finney’s first Yeltz goal was cancelled out by Jack Sherratt’s late strike in an even contest.

Manager John Hill handed debuts to new signings Dominic Smith from Hinckley and Matthew Hearsey from Dudley Sports but the Yeltz had a 9th minute let off when Sherratt’s superb cross was netted by Daniel Westwood’s glancing header, only for his effort to be ruled out for offside.

Daniel Udoh was blocked for a Yeltz corner after 12 minutes and a minute later a good cross from Kyle Morrison was finger-tipped clear by goalkeeper Adam Whitehouse. Whitehouse then snatched Jack Kelly’s 24th minute cross whilst opposite number Dan Platt was on hand to collect shots from Westwood and Jack Langston.

It was Stafford’s turn to escape after 35 minutes when Whitehouse lost the ball to Udoh and became stranded out of goal, but Lee Chilton’s final shot was blocked. Before the interval Richard Gregory’s shot was beaten away by Platt after the Yeltz lost possession and a good break saw Sherratt set up Westwood to cross dangerously along goal.

Four minutes into the second period Whitehouse did well to take Udoh’s cross just ahead of James Spray and the Yeltz went closer still by hitting the bar after Whitehouse failed to clear a 61st minute free-kick with the rebound hacked clear by the visiting defence.

To immense home relief, Halesowen grabbed a 62nd minute lead when FINNEY turned well with his back to goal to smash home following good work by Spray as Halesowen injected pace into their attack.

Stafford made a triple substitution to attempt to change their fortunes and substitute Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson flashed a shot just wide with a good sight of goal at the end of a well-worked 77th minute move.

Boro finally broke down the packed home defence to equalise in the 82nd minute when substitute Louis Briscoe laid the ball off from the right for SHERRATT to slam past Platt from the edge of the area. With two minutes remaining substitute Izak Reid’s overhead kick was blocked as Stafford sought a winning goal.

Att:- 261. Now that is poor when one considers the wonderfully named Exodus Geohaghon was on show for Stafford!

I wondered what had happened to him. Everyone's favourite Irish Rastaman :)

We should sign him!

The attendance figure is worrying, its for arguments sake £4,000 hard cash less than Stourbr*dge got on Monday evening, do the maths over a season and its a lot of extra money available to the club that can be used on improvements and/or player wages.

But as others have stated, end on a positive, it was a much improved performance effort wise last night, and if they can keep the same commitment over the coming weeks, results should start to improve and then the crowd may start to come back.
