The momentum, and much more pragmatically, the prize money, from a FA Cup run can be transformative. Look at them lot down the road.
For all their recent financial clout (compared to our apparent lack of funds) they're still in the same league and failed to finish in the play offs.

I'd love a good cup run, but would we be as prudent with any potential prize money and even TV money if we progress to that stage?

I think it is a tough draw. Belper won at Hednesford on Saturday and we saw what they did to the Yeltz last week

Not a bad effort from TT!

As to the draw, we're at home and its winnable.

Fantastic vision to see the keeper off his line and fantastic ability and technique to execute that shot.

According to the Stourbr*dge fans I speak to, he has come on leaps and bounds since leaving us. (I suppose it helps a midfielders development and confidence when he plays in a team that tries to play football on the ground and play through their midfield, as opposed to moving the ball from back to front via long balls). He's now their club captain, too.

Not a bad achievement for a player that not so long ago was deemed not good enough for us.

Couple of points on the TT front. I believe he's only captain whilst Pierpoint is over at Tividale getting match practice. (that's also an interesting set up.........)

Secondly, I don't think many people doubted he was a much better player by the end of his second season with us than when he arrived. The manager certainly rated him, and he was certainly offered the chance to stay, but without raking over that again, he chose to go down the road.

The way the last post reads is that it seems to lay the blame squarely at HTFC's door for not being able to keep him when I don't think that was the case. Let's maybe change it to a certain irate forum-eister saying TT wasn't fit enough.......... :D

It certainly depends on who you speak / listen to as to why / how Tonks left. I believe there's an element of truth to both sides. Would Tonks get into our starting 11 now and would he have done last season? The answer is yes. I recall him running the show in the Trophy game.

It's certainly water under the bridge and of course we've moved on.

I do think it's worth noting that there were a few on here that didn't rate him, when he was with us.

Not the best previous vs Belper... They are a league lower now though.

I was going to say that I could only ever remember us beating Belper once, albeit that was the one that mattered.

A couple of the losses I remember well. When they beat us 1-3 at home, we were kept at bay all night by a gangly keeper called Aaron Chapman who's now bossing it in League 2 with Accrington. The 3-4 loss was also significant as I seem to remember that was the last bad result before our winning flourish. It was quite a game and their keeper gave us some grief that night, which was returned back to him in the April! Football fans have got a good memory on these things! :D
