He was clearly too busy trying to find something to gnaw on instead of watching the game.
Maybe he's the Luis Suarez of Matlock? ::)

Funny thing is we have (thanks to Daz) a couple of songs come 1st November should he show his teeth at our FA Trophy match at the Grove.

Mind you he is coming on the "Biteway to Hell" or is it the "toothless express"?

I did indeed go dressed as a window to Dorchester, fully resplendent with curtains, a vase of flowers and a cat on the cills! Precious times :)

The windows song was, indeed, a legacy of Brother Grant of The Parish of Old Hill. The very fine musical piece starts of with the spoken word about Mario Lanza and his suicidal leap from a very tall building.
As he leapt to his imminent death the first thing he saw was a window.
And beneath that window......

I'm sure you get the idea.

I'm not sure if the story is true, or indeed if Mario is actually dead (although he would be if he took up leaping from tall buildings as a hobby).

I somehow doubt the origin of the story, as Brother Grant was from Old Hill as I said !! Although he was also responsible for a later tune regarding soggy sombreros - although I feel either Chubby Brown or Bernard Manning may have had a hand in that!

'Bright Golden Haze...' much simpler.....

Henry, along with Our Brother, Martin, Andy Pirate, etc. were awaiting a train to an away game, to somewhere like Grantham on a fine sunny morning. Henry, for some reason broke into song....
We 've sung it ever since. More precious times :)

Pungus Cafich originated in the very first - long lamented - Yeltz fanzine, Follow Your Instinct.
I have copies of all editions somewhere - must dig them out. Argus Ada, Valencia and Brother Pollard may wish to provide full details of the greatest Hungarian ever to play for the Mighty Yeltz?

Hopefully this explains a little of ancient Yeltz terrace chants.

And finally, the first George of the season in memory of The Jolly Boys. Precious Times...... O0

Thanks guys, do love reading and hearing a bit of nostalgia from time to time...

Takes me back to 'the good old days' of the Yeltz in my childhood.

Whatever happened to the 'Jolly Boys?'

At least one of them was at Matlock on Saturday. And he'll be up the road at Guiseley.

My, my, visiting a site, eh? You have definitely come on a long way from dis-engaging the Caps-Lock button ;)
Me too, now I'm cured of my blue-box fever!

A Half Westy, Half Biscuit website sounds truly wonderful. I'll set one up.

Today I have ordered my HWHB hi-viz waistcoat. You want one?
