A quick shuftie at the excellent database gives a Goals Per Game of -

Dunkley, Martin 1.00
Moore, Stefan 0.82
Deeney, Troy 0.80
Haseley, Ben 0.69
Gibson, Montel 0.67
Gregory, Richard 0.65
Piearce, Stephen 0.64
Brennan, Dean 0.62
Donnelly, Kieren 0.60
Joinson, Paul 0.56

Given that I can't remember the first bloke and excellent start by Kieren is just a start, that leaves us -

Moore, Stefan 0.82 (42 in 52)
Deeney, Troy 0.80 (8 in 10, but included because he's famous and that).
Haseley, Ben 0.69 (105 in 158)
Gibson, Montel 0.67 (31 in 47)
Gregory, Richard 0.65 (36 in 56)
Piearce, Stephen 0.64 (66 in 103)
Brennan, Dean 0.62 (23 in 43)
Joinson, Paul 0.56 (An incredible 365 in 650)
Wright, Evran 0.54 (106 in 196)

And Jason Ashby / Moore down on 0.33 (50 in 164)

Anyone else who shone brightly before fizzling out?

I had Stefan Moore and Jason Ashby as the same person in my mind, which is clearly ridiculous.
And stats on a goals per game for any strikers who played over 30 games or something like?
Of recent players Iyseden Christie, might be worth a shout, although his average would be boosted by the 6 against Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band
37 in 92.

Not sure of his stats but Dean Spink may be a good call and we sold him to Cov (or was it The Bedwetters?) as a striker so he must have been some good.
All before he went off to join the cast of Neighbours, of course.
22 in 43.

And it was the bedwetters, obvs.

3 in 23, but in his defence, only 7 starts.

And before anyone asks, the obvious omission has 4 in 41 (20 starts).

So, after that lovely New Year's ramble down Memory Bank Boulevard, we learn two things.

Firstly, copper-bottomed hot-shots should include -

Stefan Moore
Ben10
Montel
Gregs
Pie-arse
Dean Brennan
Paul and
Evran

Secondly, I've been bored on an online course all day...

Is that the cue to mention Kerry Giddings or Jermaine Palmer? ::)

Of course, I filleted all this info from the excellent database provided by Yeltz_Bear.

Whilst looking for "cult" forwards, I did notice a gap that I could fill in.
For today's spotter's badge, the forward listed as "Jones, ?" who scored 2 in 10 at the start of the 1998/9 season was - ...
