So we lost to their only attempt on target in the entire 90 minutes. Quite how they won I don't know, but win they did. Some of their fans said we were the most difficult opponents this season. Again though we have failed to score. The abiding memory of the day though for me will be their support. They took over the whole ground, never stopped singing, and yet never directed any animosity toward us at all. It was all positive backing for FCUnited. Simply far and away the best support I have seen in 30 years of watching non league football at home or away. An absolute credit to themselves and their fledgling club. They would be welcomed back down the Grove with open arms. Superb.

Yes we should've got something out of that but it's the lack of goals that is punishing us. It was a game of few chances although Ben could or should have had a couple - more of a confidence thing rather than the level of opposition.

Totally agree. We played very well if we had won our last few games, we would have won today, just a lack of confidence up front with chances, totally agree about FCUM support, absolutely superb, they deserve to win the league, I spoke to a lot of their fans and they were full of praise for us, what I will say is our vocal support could be not far off theirs if more people made an effort to join in, well done to the 20 or so who did, made lots of noise, if only there were more.

I know this season isn't over yet but am really looking forward to next season, if we can continue the level of progress then I don't think we will be far off challenging, we have given the top team in our division 2 fantastic games and probably deserved equal shares over both games.

A superb atmosphere today. Well done to our usual suspects in The Shed who nearly matched the Manc choir with significantly less numbers.
A great game played in a good spirit and for once we had a referee who let the game flow.
A pity that Ben couldn't put that one gilt edged chance away when we were putting them under pressure in the second half.
A very entertaining afternoon and, as Andy has said, a great bunch of away fans.

In all my 13 and a half years (on and off) of supporting Halesowen, I'd say very hard to say I have seen a better atmosphere down the Grove in that time.

To echo most of the comments their support was fantastic. I don't really hold Man United fans in high regard but to me they're the 'proper' fans of Manchester. Nothing but vocal support for their team but very little animosity against us.

As for the game, I thought overall we were the better team overall, and were very unlucky to lose the game. In some respects even deserved to win or at best get a point from the game.

In some respects they very much reminded me like the 'traditional' Man United team that we have become accustomed to over the last 20 years, that even when they are not at their best they can still turn up and produce a special moment to win the game when maybe they haven't deserved to.

Ben will probably be kicking himself as should have put his chance away when he was one on one but tbf we should have been ahead by half time.

Overall though, fantastic atmosphere. The attendance of 1,487 was obviously great for the club but slightly disappointing as though there could have been more Halesowen fans to counteract their support. And once again the players did fantastic and did us proud!

Up The Yeltz!

Think we were the better team overall. If Ben could have took his chances better we would have won. What a great atmosphere. Next season we will be challenging. I brought along a mate who absolutely loved it and will be coming to at least all the home games. Fcum fans were a credit to their team and it's a pity we won't be playing them next season. One a-h**e tried to ruin it but all credit to the Yeltz faithful who nipped it in the bud. Come on you Yeltzzzzz

Fcum Fan here, I'd like to say Thanks for the welcome today, I really enjoyed visiting The Grove. Thank You all for Your kind words about our support, a bit muted and nervy for me, but we have been for the last couple of games. Still we like to back the team and have a laugh.
To be honest I thought the game lacked any real quality as the Pitch was in a bad condition this time of Year and that forced both sides to use the long ball game.
I do however feel the best Team lost and for a lack of composure up front, we would have lost. But It's the business end of the season and I'm sorry to say I'll take the win however "ugly" it was.
I spoke to some of Your fans, a nicer bunch in general than that lot down the road ;) I even took a young lad who got lost in our crowd behind the goal back to his parents.
Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season! UP THE YELTZ!

You do realise that in that statement you have endeared yourselves to us forever, don't you? ;D

Great club ethos, great fans, good luck however far it may take you.

Good luck to fcum. Great fans. They are the blueprint for which we should aspire to. As Yeltz fans we need to attract new fans. Trust me there is plenty of scope out there. Non-league is the future for true football fans. Sod the football league. All disenfranchised fans of villa, blooze, and Albion come down the Grove and witness true passion and love for the mighty Yeltz

Gutted to lose, but we lost to the champions I feel. A much improved performance from our boys. if only we'd taken some of the chances!
Thought their fans were superb, backed their team 100%, nothing anti - us or anyone. Original songs and supped plenty of ale. We had a right good go singing against them but 40 of us against a couple of hundred of them we stood little chance. That said, we didn't give in and showed the same desire and effort as our boys on the pitch.
On Tuesday we play Frickley were another 3pts are up for grabs. The same as today.
We've played worse this season and won games, today wasn't our day. See you on Tuesday....
