He's a class above isn't he?

Not just his goals, but his hold up play and general play too. Exceptional player for this level.

In fact I don't care what level to have 70 goals in 80 games is an incredible record no matter who you are or who you play for.

As good as Ben is / has been let's not forget this is a team game. I'm sure Ben will be first to point out he couldn't have got half his goals without some excellent play from his team mates.

We've got a good squad at this level and each player brings something into the team. Ben's goals are needed but let's not forget the other players!

I think Ben's goals this season have helped as the team works so much harder around him on the pitch than last season. We have a full strong squad! The work ethic is superb and we have not been letting many goals in.

I just hope the players who dont play some games realise how far we can go if we keep the team together. Its a team effort and its still going to be a long season.

In conversation with one of our more senior supporters on Saturday, he commented to me that Ben was as good a forward as we have EVER had.

I've seen 30 years of strikers and my correspondent has seen more than 50 but it's hard to argue against the statement.

I hope that he's having a really short honeymoon.

In Quarry Bank.

No offence to Ben this is the lowest level of football this club has played in many years before people compare him to many other strikers this great club has had. I seem to remember you same people saying steve peirce was the best forward this club has had a few years ago.Hard to compare players over the years in different leagues but in my View Dean Spink was the best centre forward ive watched in HTFC colours but the best striker/s lee and paul joinson will never been beaten, paul joinson best finisher ive ever watched for HTFC and maybe lee joinson in his prime the best player ever for HTFC...just my view

I never, ever thought i would be able to say this. After watching him curdle yet another defences blood last night i think Ben is the best striker i have ever seen down the Grove also. The only thing PJ still has over Ben is that his reign as king was over a lot longer period, and he never let the standard slip in all those years. So there it is Ben, stay with us for years and years and you too will be a true legend.

The thing that impresses me most about Ben is his all round game. His work rate is phenomenal and he has a good football brain. He scores great goals, he scores tap ins, he scores headers. He holds the ball up, flicks it on and passes well. Whilst many players have some of these attributes at this level Ben stands out more as he has them all. In addition to this, his in game decision making is probably something like 95% right as well. We're very fortunate to have him, long may it continue!
If he has got a fault, I'd say it's getting married during the season ;)
