yes..players /supporters coach going friday evening
it is £59 for coach AND bed and breakfast..let Sarah know 07872 129764 or at eastwood on saturday or tuesday at match in club shop (deposit required)..need to know asap for hotel requirments ..going on friday can only add to the fa cup experience..and its cheaper than just the train journey!!

Can you give us the low down on pubs to do to near to the ground, what food and drink is available at the ground and so on?

According to their website www.marskeunited.com you can buy tickets in advance via paypal £5 adults, £2.50 concessions £2 juniors, delivered to your door with a £1 admin charge, but on the day you can use the express entrance rather than queue, are they expected 5000 borough fans to attend !?

I'll answer DD's question first...
There's only one entrance into the ground for fans and it's a 'lady in a hut' so getting tickets in advance when there's a bigger than usual crowd is a good idea as we'll just have a couple of others collecting tickets in the 'express lane'. We'll be doing our best to promote the game for a lively atmosphere and hoping to attract Boro fans looking for a football fix...

Next up to Marske Pubs, Clubs and Grub:
1. Marske Sports Club is 50 paces from the ground, is friendly and sells the usual Carling, Coors, John Smiths etc...will get full, but it will be a good friendly atmosphere. Crisps and sweets only foodwise.
2. Top House (Zetland) is a 5 min walk from the ground and close to the train station, I'm sure it does bar meals on a Saturday lunchtime and the food is pretty good.
3. Middle House (Clarendon) - quieter with no music and food but does have some hand pull ales etc (I'm not a beer drinker so can't help much). Co-op supermarket right over the road.
4. The Frigate - haven't been in for a while as it closed down for a bit, but is close to the ground and has decent car parking if needed. I think it does real ales etc, not sure about food...
5. Bottom House (The Ship) - A little bit further away (15 mins walk from the ground), does a number of ales and good food.
6. The Mermaid - Maybe 20-25 mins walk from the ground. Does a good serve your own carvery and bar meals.

In the Town there's Greggs, another Baker, Cafes, a Sainsbury's local and Co-op for your provisions...

In the ground, there's Shell's Kitchen Burger Van - we like the quality, good burgers, good chips and gravy/curry.....

Now, to Friday night...
If by any chance the team and supporters were staying not too far from Marske in a town called errrrmmmm Redcar (let's just say.....), then the restaurant serving the most wholesome food suitable for semi-pro athletes the day before an important match would be an excellent Bistro named Angels in the town centre (I think the head chef is called Angelos, hence the name). It doesn't open until 10 and doesn't take bookings, but turn up there and they'll be sure to seat you straight away and cater for your every need. I've 'heard' it's £10 per course, so prices are reasonable as well.....

MacRuss does your town have a chippy, McDonalds for before the game and a curry house for after?

No Maccy Dees, that's in Redcar, about 5 miles away.
Good Chippy in Town centre (it's a small town...) and one opposite the Frigate, both very close to the ground.

Nearest Curry House is in Redcar a taxi ride away, sorry. My recommendation in Redcar is Bengal Spice on Station Road.

There's a good takeaway Indian close to the ground though...

Thanks for the info MacRuss, might sound a silly question, but am thinking of taking my 9 year old lad, he is at the stage where he would rather play football rather than watch ! At some grounds there is a bit of a grassy area (not including the pitch!) is there such at your ground just in case he gets bored ?
