Yeltz Trivia
This is up there with knowing that Malcolm used to be the Securicor bloke who collected the takings from Halesowen Safeway.

Shouldn't even a moderator be held to account for posting such images? I need to clean my eyeballs now.

And then there was former Yeltz from 1960s Brian Taylor who operated on Villa full back Wilfred Bouma’s knee

This is the content that I come here for.Laurel Lane Lamper wrote: ↑28 Feb 2023, 13:47And then there was former Yeltz from 1960s Brian Taylor who operated on Villa full back Wilfred Bouma’s knee
I suspect that we're due a "high-intensity" couple of weeks. Think of this as a decompressant, an internet Vick's Sinus Spray for the soul if you will.
The great Danny Baker and latter day disciples of his like H&J and Max Rushden on ShoutShite, often run subjects on mundane memorabilia and banal bumping-in-tos with your heroes.
I'll toss in regularly seeing Don Smith washing his car on Bloomfield St. And making a note of Geoff Moss's home number that was on a scrap of paper behind the bar at Lye Town.
And I definitely should have scraped the bit of mud off my face that flew from Ashley Sammons's boot as he shot and scored at Bradford PA.
Others?

Re: Yeltz Trivia
Stuart Skidmore once delivered me a parcel. My work colleague is Paul Holleran’s brother-in-law. And - tenuously - Paul Smith made an appearance on my stag do (before he was Halesowen manager).
Perhaps my favourite is, after a backwards-and-forwards email exchange with someone called “Zema” at Autoglass, they eventually closed the matter with their email signature, which exposed their surname. And, indeed, it was the very same.

I would be honoured to have my post on Danny Baker’s show. His was the original national football phone-in and remains not bettered. Similarly and locally was Tony Butler’s. In tribute Jasper Carrott said Tony was so bad he was brilliant. “today’s phone-in competition is what are Trevor Francis’ initials? Caller number 10 you are the closest and the winner with 1968”
As for the other radio station mentioned, I don’t recognise it and am never anywhere near it (especially since the advent of BOOM RADIO). Do they recite alphabets without vowels? I consider it a personal endurance and achievement to persist through their cricket commentaries. TMS is not what it used to be (CMJ etc) but is still far superior.
Back to the theme of this topic, having ordered curtains from the business of a member of the first FA Vase Wembley squad, they were fitted by David Bayley. If you remember him, a separate topic could be started on his like. Don Smith was also employed by that business in the same role.
