Looking ahead to next season (well not really but)

Bear with me here please. When we get promoted to step 3 how much do you think we will need to improve/develop to hold our own and make a real go of it.

I suppose the real question is (for the time being) how to you all view the gap between step 3 and step 4 currently.

For me in one off games etc most step 4 sides can raise their game to match most step 3 teams. Week in week out though I think there is a very big difference indeed. IMO most top 5 step 4 clubs would struggle to make mid table without developing their playing squad etc......then step 2 now thats a very very big gap, some serious sides in there with money - oh and forget about step 1.....sides with massive budgets in there.

Just my observation, for now lets smash this league

I’d say that the top few in our league would be comfortable in the league above.
Gates and budgets are comparable I guess. Although I must keep missing the annual email detailing everyone’s budget - Twitter seems to have an infallible and encyclopaedic knowledge of how much all players are paid.
It’s such a gossamer-thin existence in the non-league that there’s always a few who go tit-over-teakettle each year, so sometimes you have to try hard to fail.
Agreed that the step to Conf North / South is bigger and above that is a different world.

Much like Lutley’s thoughts on neurology, epidemiology and cranio-facial biophysics, my thoughts are more based on opinion than fact though.

HH probably has some stats that he’s produced when he should have been working.
