The Queen lived a life of extraordinary privilege. She also sacrificed a lot of life that makes it worth it. Regardless of anyone's view of the monarchy, and I've got mine, she deserves respect for that.

That said, I just don't understand why tomorrow we can go to other sporting events, the cinema, the pub or just about anywhere else, but we can't go to watch football. Makes no sense at all as the mighty Hüsker Dü(where are the metal umlauts?) once said.
youre welcome 😁

I understand fully that people want life to go on as 'normal' and that includes football. I am by no means a monarchist, though definitely not a republican, but my respect for the Queen and all she has given is unwavering. Most normal everyday events will be able to carry on with people keeping their thoughts and feelings to themselves and going about their business. Like it or not football is different. The amount of lardheads it attracts is frightening. Already (admittedly in Eire) we have had Shamrock Rovers fans singing 'Lizzie's in a box'. We've had Hearts fans booing those trying to show respect. And up and down the length and breadth of Britain that would happen. 99% will show respect and the 1% will put us all in a bad light. Just for 1 weekend it will do nobody any harm and those that want to celebrate the Queen's reign in whatever way they choose will be able to. Also it will allow the many police who have control footballs neanderthal contingent to be able to concentrate their thoughts on the masses of people who will doubtless descend on London and Windsor. 70 years she gave, surely one Saturday is not that much of a sacrifice?

None of that applies to football at our level though? You're right of course, one weekend is irrelevant, but a blanket shutdown of football (including kids) is excessive when, just as one example, a Test Match, will be starting tomorrow.

In fairness, its much easier to stay off sites that allow dimwits to partake. Life is much smoother. They look important, but the real world is more important.

As Mike Tyson said:
