That particular bit of KES (like the Radio 2 Irritant, Steve Wright’s Friday afternoon nonsense, no G) lore, is unfortunately, urban myth.
When I was there, so enamoured of this were we that my mate’s mom wrote to the the ex-Goodie to ask if it was true.
He wrote back and alas, it was a myth.
